Waterproof Honey Bunny

This Rabbit vibrator is the next progression from the Waterproof Amore, the last product we tested from Evolved Novelties. The Honey Bunny belongs to the True Love toy line, and has a vibrating shaft along with a second bullet egg that powers the bunny clitoral stimulator.

Description and Materials

The Honey Bunny is made of smooth, phthalates-free TPR material. I have grown quite fond of the quality of this material, because it has the flexibility of jelly without any of the chemical or bacterial concerns. In fact, it’s even RoHS compliant, which means that the device conforms to a minimum standard of chemical safety, ensuring that the item is free from the hazards of certain harmful substances.

The Honey Bunny measures almost 8 inches tall with an insertable length of just over 5 inches. Its shaft has a little bit of ribbing, but my favorite design feature is its comfortable rounded top; I also enjoyed the slighter girth of the shaft. The Honey Bunny comes in two colors, pink or purple. Are you wondering about the odor? It’s not an issue at all!

This product is waterproof and withstood bath and shower play. The rubber o-ring that lines the inside of the cap was effective at keeping out any water. The Honey Bunny is fairly light and extremely flexible; this appears to be a characteristic of Evolved’s line of toys.

How It Works

The Honey Bunny is powered by 2AA batteries. There is a built-in one button control that operates the unit. The control button is easy to locate, which is great when you’re trying to focus on play. The handle is made of an easy-grip material, perfect for holding onto when it’s wet. To access the battery compartment, simply twist apart the base.

The only vibe pattern, a continuous buzz, has three speeds for you to choose from. Somewhat to my dismay, the bullets are not independently controlled. The control mechanism supplies power to both of the bullets, so if the clit stimulator is too strong but the shaft isn’t, you’re out of luck.

Packaging/Storage

The Honey Bunny sets an example for great packaging and an excellent branding strategy. The metal tin is definitely a uniquely identifying signature of Evolved toys. The latches easily open and close the case and the foam inside gives just enough stability to display the toy nicely. Personally, I think this foam isn’t necessary for storage but the container is definitely a keeper.

Audibility

Unfortunately, this is a loud unit, so much so that it almost drowns out all the noise from my shower. You wouldn’t be able to ‘secretly’ masturbate in the other room with this product; it produces a distinct whirring sound and the components rattle slightly against the body of the shaft. This was a deficiency I noticed in my Waterproof Amore too. One last point; the Honey Bunny didn’t have as much power as I would have liked. For the amount of noise that it emitted, I would have expected way more output.

Cleaning

Rinse under warm water and wash with mild soap before and after using. The cleaning process is made much easier because the product is waterproof.

Critique

I think that it’s important to put out well constructed toys, paying particular attention if they’re meant to be waterproof. On my second use, I twisted the cap to put in the batteries and I must have twisted it on harder than it could bear; the base of the toy completely separated from the body. I tried to fiddle it back on again but it was too late, the Honey Bunny’s life was meant to be short. No matter what I did, it would not turn back on.

Now is this a sign of poor design or was it a blip in the assembly line? Based on my previous experience with this series of sex toys, I rather think that it was a problem with mine and not an inherent flaw in the blueprint - I may also have been a bit too eager in getting it sealed before my shower. Nevertheless, this is a great reminder to thoroughly inspect toys that you buy before using them.

One last observation – the TPR material came with a dull finish on it. It makes the toy look old and even worse, dirty. Regrettably, the surface is permanent and again, was a characteristic that I also noticed in the Waterproof Amore.

Pleasure

I’ll give you a tip on a gratifying move that you can try with the Honey Bunny; rest the tip of the toy against the clitoris and gently twist it to and fro while it’s turned on. It produces a pleasurable sensation to the clit and simulates a deliciously pleasing side to side stimulation. Alternatively, take advantage of its flex and play around with different intensities of thrusting.

Long Term Appeal and Value

Based on the price point, you get a reasonable deal for a waterproof rabbit vibrator with body-safe materials. I question the toy’s endurance for the long-term, but the company does offer product registration and warranty on their website.

Final Thoughts

I can appreciate the direction that Evolved Novelties want to go with these toys and their product lines will definitely carry items that can be satisfying for everyone. Its distinctive presentation and fair price makes it a decent purchase. I rate it 6.5/10.
