Scoop and Wedge

These two items comprise a set of high density foam pillows. Used on their own, or in combination, the positional options with the Scoop and Wedge seem endless.

The Scoop has two sides to it, rounded and flat. You can enjoy dynamic sex by laying the curved side down and rocking on it like a seesaw. Your other alternative is to the lay it flat-side down on the ground for a more stable foundation. The Scoop’s dimensions are 40” long by 24” wide – it’s about 12” high.

The Wedge is shaped like a triangular segment. You can position it underneath your hips for a lift while you’re on your back or tummy. The angles that you can reach with the Wedge enable better g-spot access as well as deeper penetration. These difficult positions are easier to get into and you can stay in them longer. You’ll quickly discover that it makes the penis feel bigger and the vagina a lot tighter.

The Black Label Scoop cover comes with six restraint clips, three along either side; the Wedge cover includes one clip in on either of the small sides. The velvety soft black microfiber cover allows the shapes to grip one another without slipping, while the reinforced tailoring helps the product stay durable.

If you don’t yet own cuff restraints or accessories, you’ll find that the small extra cost to add them to the shipment is totally worth it. Despite the fact that you can use your own restraints with the Black Label Scoop and Wedge, the value that you get out of these leopard print accessories is amazing.

The package came with a set of high quality wrist, ankle and thigh cuffs, a plush blindfold with raised edges to prevent peeking, six easy clip male-female connectors, three female-female extenders and two adjustable 40” tether straps. The cuffs and blindfold are also adjustable, while their Velcro straps are lined with a lovely soft material that’s extremely comfortable to wear, even for extended periods of time.

How It Works/Pleasure Factor

When I received my giant package in the mail, I stood eyeing it cautiously thinking, “There is a lot going on in this box – where do I start?” Having used a number of Liberator shapes in the past, I was familiar with the versatility of the product. In spite of this, I still felt a bit overwhelmed. I ended up figuring out that it was because I needed to do my research. The 132 page catalogue that you get with the package is an excellent place to start; this’ll get you familiarized with the set. You’ll also want to watch the quality streaming videos that Liberator has ‘Backstage’ for eyes 18+ only. ‘Jaiya’ is the host of a number of the online videos, such as ‘Kama Sutra Love Play’ and ‘Sex with Jaiya’; this beautiful and engaging woman will explain how to effectively use the shapes. She gives you a fantastic guide to the Scoop/Wedge and stirs up the inspiration to devise your own moves. Not only that, she thoroughly explains some of the angles that are usually out of reach for most couples without props. What’s more, I got a lot of ideas from watching all of the other clips that featured Black Label edition shapes.

So after you’ve done your homework, you’ll be ready to try out your moves. Start with some of the thrust exercises that Jaiya suggested: I found that these really prepared me and my partner for the experience. There’s something about the addition of motion that creates a vibrant effect to sex. Doggie and missionary position get a new flavour and the pleasure you get from oral is maxed.

If you’re not quite comfortable with the swoop of the Scoop, prop the Wedge underneath it to get added height and stability. If you’re okay to progress, try positioning the Wedge on top of the Scoop to make a comfy headrest. Next you can start clipping in! I found that the wedge was easiest to attempt; so was buckling together wrists and feet.

I L-O-V-E-D all the moves that you can do with the cuff set. I tried a great one I saw on “Maximizing G-spot Pleasure” where the woman was laying down on her back, ankle-cuffed together with the tether strap. Her partner, kneeling, enters her and but keeps her legs in the air. Instead of thrusting, he pulled her cuffed legs slowly, from left to right like a windshield wiper, so as to massage both of their genitals with a circular motion.

Who It’s For

This combination of ‘bondage meets trapeze’ can be used by virtually anyone. The shapes can benefit active couples who want to add a bit of kink to their lovemaking. Conversely, those will less athletic ability will still be able to enjoy some added fun and creativity. I find that the shapes enhance depth in sexual positions and create opportunities for novel bedroom sensations. What’s more, the restraints can create the stability that some people need to be able to rock the Scoop confidently.

Packaging/Storage

The Black Label Scoop and Wedge come delivered in a plain unmarked box. Inside, the items can be found sealed in a tasteful opaque bag that’s red and white – very Valentine’s Day appropriate! The items come already put together in each of their covers and storage bag.

The black gear bag is an awesome way to store these shapes discreetly. The restraint kit, on the other hand, came in a zip lock bag. I think an inconspicuous storage container for the cuffs and restraints would have come in handy, particularly because some of the items are so tiny.

Cleaning

Product care is incredibly easy; you simply zip off the covers and toss them in the washing machine. Yup, that’s it. Despite the fact that I shrink just about everything, the covers didn’t budge.

Critique

There are so many rewards to this product! I really wanted to get the most out of the Black Label Scoop Wedge experience though I have to say, it took some patience and practice. The only significant snag I can foresee is that some couples might not learn how to maximize the benefits, particularly of the Scoop. The Wedge, on the other hand, is fairly intuitive.

One of the reasons that Liberator has become such a favorite manufacturer of mine is that their bedroom shapes coordinate so well with one another; combining them creates so many more possibilities. I loved using the Scoop/Wedge combo with my Ramp and I really enjoyed adding a second Wedge to the mix. Because the Scoop isn’t very tall, I’m dreaming about getting the Liberator Equus but I need to figure out how to fit all of this stuff into my small one bedroom apartment!

The Black Label Scoop and Wedge is a great way to utilize some sexual props in bedroom play when you have a partner who isn’t keen on actual toys. These items are also a great prologue for Tantric sex. Just make sure that you have a firm grip surface such as a rug to use them on.

Long Term Appeal

This product has major long term appeal. The leverage and elevation that you can achieve with these unique shapes will keep you busy for a long time to ‘come’ – pun intended! While you’re new to the Scoop/Wedge, you can start with the basics and work your way up to some of the more advanced positions. Following that, you and your partner can work on training your sexual endurance. Along the way use your imagination to work the restraints to your favour – you can even use other types such as the Liberator Binding Sashes.

When you think you’re out of ways to use the Black Label Scoop and Wedge, it might be time to add another Liberator shape to the mix. I think a Ramp would be a fantastic addition to the collection because it works extremely well in conjunction with both of these items. When you’re not using your scoop for sex, use it for lounging and stretching out your entire body.

These items will certainly stand up to the test of time and the microfiber cover becomes softer as you continue to wash it in the machine. Then again, it’s easy to order new covers - you can choose between Black Label and generic.

Value

The cost of the Black Label Scoop and Wedge might seem higher than some couples want to spend all at once. But, when you work out the numbers, keep in mind that you get a Liberator Wedge completely free out of the deal. Furthermore, you couldn’t get such a versatile and comprehensive cuff kit for such a low price. All in all, this is an investment that I think you’ll derive major value from. A further advantage is that you can use all of these items independently from one another so you get maximum bang for your buck!

Final Thoughts

Liberator couldn’t have put it any better; this set gives you “an exhilarating up/down motion to the old in/out.” I rate it an excellent 9/10.
