[QUOTE=Quote ]Brownback, an outspoken Christian conservative who has championed efforts to curb indecency on television and the Internet, said the public is beginning to realize "they don't just have to take it."
But he acknowledged the First Amendment right to free speech has limited congressional efforts.

The First Amendment is limiting congressional efforts? If the First Amendment is "creating a problem," does it sound like maybe congress (or at least this congressman) is making the WRONG efforts?!!

Oh don't worry about that pesky old "First Amendment" thing... I'm sure Pres. Bush will have NO trouble fixing that. He likes the idea of changing the Constitution.
Well, I read the article and while I'm not too keen on the way television and the internet are now, don't they already have parental control systems that can be used to block the shows and sites that they don't want their children to see? I don't have these options at present, but I know as my children get older, I will be investing in them.
I have heard stories about people becoming addicted to porn, and I suppose that something needs to be done about it, but it all comes down to choice doesn't it? What does that person choose to look at or view? You can't stop a herione addict from abusing until HE is ready.
