Workout Issues

I am really skinny. I am 6 foot weighting at 157 pounds. I checked a weight chart a few days ago I am underweight by about ten pounds. I want to gain weight and only in muscles.

I have a few problems. The first one is that I have a very high metabolism so I have trouble gaining weight. I have tried eating more, but with results. I try to eat between 3000 to 3500 calories per day. I also eat plenty of protein everyday.

I other problem is that I won't have time to go to the gym this year. My class and work schedule is very tight. I don't have any free time in between class and work. The only time I have to to workout is after work so I can only workout in my dorm room. I don't own any weights at the moment. What exercises should I do? When should I expect any results?

Thanks in advance

Pure bulk is usually added through heavy weight low repetition work along with high protein diets.

You can do quite a lot with just a set of resistance bands, pushups, and situps throughout the day.

Do a google search for calisthenics.

Or, go to the physical education department at your school and ask for calisthenics recommendations.

If you follow a disciplined regimen, you should start seeing results in about a month.

This can be accelerated by not posting self-pitying entries on your original, out of control thread.

I eat a lot of chicken so I am getting the protein.:)

What I do with resistance bands? Sorry, but I have little knowledge with workout equipment.

Should I do pushups and situps everyday? What should I do to workout my legs in my room?

Does P.E. not exist in US schools anymore?

Only for Elementary and Middle. High school is for one year. The problem with Middle and High is that half of the year is spent learning how to exercise in books and some sex ed. The other half is actually PE.

How many times do you need to be told... YOU NEED A HIGH PROTEIN
Drink, bar or shake to help with muscle tone after working out.
This chicken shit is getting old, it would be like me telling my personal trainer "I don't need the protein shake, I drink plenty of cum"

I can't afford protein bars, drinks, and shakes. They are too expensive. I just have to eat foods in high protein.

Fine, I'll stop worrying about the high protein. I'll try this workout for a month and see how it goes.

dammit Franklin, I gave you an absolutely no cost approach requiring absolutely no equipment. You are back to your old tricks of rejecting anything advised. Forget the goddam protein and do a google search on calisthenics. I just checked myself by doing that and found several wonderful sites.

Most people over-emphasize the protein to the point that it only makes their farts smell bad.

Thank you. I found some good sites.

Wtf? It wasn't that long ago that I finished HS and it was required all four years with two, separate, years of classroom studies titled "Health". The only exceptions were for those who made one of the sports teams.

As Brandye noted, the amount of protein needed for most people to build muscle is much lower than what they eat. A "high" protein diet isn't needed, one that provides enough for the persons body weight and level of activity is needed. Chicken is fine, as long as it is trimmed and not fried. Peanut butter works just as well and skip the jelly.

Please add levels of activity in moderate increments. Jumping from doing nothing to all out exercise will likely lead to injuries - especially if you attempt plyometrics(not recommended).

I think the PE system in schools depends on the school district and/or the state.

I don't like Peanut butter. I'll do a search today for foods in high protein.

Read for godsake: A HIGH PROTEIN DIET IS NOT NEEDED. When you compete for Mr Universe, you will have advisors. Until you get there, a normal diest is fine. We mostly eat too much protein.

I have read many articles that states I should eat a lot more because of my high metabolism and high protein is part of the advised diet.

So do it then and stop wasting Brandyes time by posting that you need help when you have already decided what you are going to do...

:eek:After all she is a doctor and knows what she is talking about:rolleyes:
DUH

Evil,

May I borrow your brick?

Maybe Frankie will think the brick is high in protein and eat it to gain weight! Saying he has no time is bull----! College gyms are open all the time. Frankie, learn to budget your time better.
