Dildos are toys. Choosing one or more and using them can be entertaining, also. That said, a nimble finger works wonders and is capable of much more than the more rigid toy. I agree that I think that there are many more sex toys out there for women than for men. For men who are not into anal play, the toy spectrum becomes even smaller. As a woman, I own a whole box full of various things. Some are for play during sex, some are for masturbation. Dildo's work well when a real penis is not available. They also stay hard indefinitely and are easier to control than a real penis. My BF enjoys using toys while we have sex sometimes, he enjoys having a vibrator on the base of his penis. That's about the extent of what he will do. He is not into anal play at all. I have seen toys for men that are basically fake vagina's, the fleshlight for example, but I have not heard anyone's reviews of how good they feel. I was considering buying one to use on my BF, to spice things up a bit. Anyway, I think that if you were just curious about trying out different sensations while masturbating, that would be where you might want to invest in a sex toy. If you are happy with your hand, then there is no need. I can say as a woman, that I have always enjoyed my sex toys very much.
