it is quite silly that people keep studying this, if only they could see this site. what i find disturbing is that it seems that data was collected by unwilling men, as it states they were under anesthesia for surgery. the only medical relevance is that they believe if the ring finger is longer then the fetus was exposed to higher levels of testosterone.
and this is not the first time they have created an assumption about finger ratios. months before i heard that if a man has a ring finger longer than his index he more likely to cheat. the same reason was given because of higher levels of testosterone. they were much nicer when mentioning women who had long ring fingers and said that they were more fertile. so according to all these to studies on the link*looking at my fingers* i am fortunate below the belt, likely to cheat, attractive to women, and likely to be and alcoholic. sounds like tommy lee from motley crue.
back to the most recent article; they said that lesbians and female to male transgenders are most likely to have long ring fingers like men. so it looks like we getting closer to finding evidence that homosexuality is not only environmental, or choice as some would say.

I have heard this theory before. The only problem I have with it is that I have several friends who "ooze" testosterone and they have the same kind of hands as me. (I have test levels that are low 3 or 200 i believe...was tested a year ago). All of their ring fingers are shorter than their middle finger
People with longer ring fingers and shorter index fingers are more likely to excel with numbers, whereas, those people who have longer index fingers are likely to be better at reading and writing as with literacy in general. Go figure....
that is true for me doc, math has always been my strong subject. interesting that most women statistically are not as good at math compared to men. and men often have long ring fingers.
