Off course there's a long history to anal sex, depictions go back to Ancient Rome and Greece and Asia. In tantric instructions the anus is last to be involved in sexual activities, since activities are ordered in a way to built up momentum to create maximum pleasure. Anal sex is sometimes used as a type of birth control (not much reliable, btw) and that could be more common in some cultures than in others. I do know that in some cultures, particularly Middle East, anal sex is used by women to prevent them from losing their vaginal virginity. I do find it fascinating that these same cultures often think of the anus as a very tainted area they're not allowed to touch; quite a paradox is it not? :rolleyes: I guess when sex in itself is dirty, you can do it in a place you consider dirty too.

Often recent history is more interesting. In many cultures sex in itself is the (re)arrival of a novelty, since it has been repressed for centuries by religion. As western culture we are only 2 generations on our way of free sexual expression. The culture in itself is battling between holding back uptightly and giving in madly, not knowing what to do with this freedom that we love deeply, yet also desperately try to constrain, redefining our baselines of ethics and boundaries. I'm happy to live in quite a relaxed and open-minded country. It makes this whole tug-of-war a little less extreme.

I don't watch pornographic movies much myself and what it do watch is much more exotic.
