he is prob suffering from performance anxiety.
the way you are posting you seem frustrated. do not! relax. calm him, let him know its cool n take his time n ****.. it will happen but if he is so nervous about it cause of the pressure he is under its only normal for him to get a soft on.
more foreplay is probably needed in this situation and have the condom ready n raring right before insertion. as previously said just calm him, he knows you've had a past n well this could add to the nervousness.. jus try help him through it
