Varicele/sperm count

Ok so I was years back diagnosed with a problem with my testes called a variocele. It is essentially were there is way too many veins around the testes (mainly on the right side) According to my doctor it lowers sperm count because the testes are too hot (as the blood is at 98.6 too hot to keep the sperm alive. The problem I now have is I went to my doctor about this in 6th grade and really was not concerned about the amount of sperm I had (as I barely knew what that meant) But now that I am begining to become sexually active I am wondering how much this would lower my sperm count and how much it would lower my chances of getting my gf pregnant (accidentally) and late my wife pregnant (purposefully). If anyone here could give me an idea of what I am looking at that would be much appreciated as my mom would not be too happy if she knew I wanted to know my sperm count (as that would give away to her I am having sex)

Schedule an appointment with your GP or with your urologist. Remember it only takes "one" swimmer to impregnate anyone. As far as planned pregnancy later, you need this checked through an exam. Best done now...just complain to your mom you need to go to the doc secondary to pain or a bulging and you believe your past history of Var. has become worse. If I were a man--I'd be sitting a the doc's office for a check up.

Many, many men with this condition are fathers. In some men it lowers the sperm count very little; in some, a lot. Do not consider yourself safe because you are still generating lots of sperm. It sounds like the condition is mainly on one side, so the other side may not be affected at all.

Use all the proper precautions for pregnancy and STD transfer. Worry about getting someone pregnant as though you knew nothing of this. Ask your doctor to do a sperm count and, when you are planning to have children, do it again. That is a normal process in following this.
