kind of embarrassing but i noticed lately that there's been kind of a strong smell from my vagina - different than normal, i usually haven't really been able to smell it before. i haven't really had any other problems with discharge or anything looking different to normal, so i'm not really sure what it is.
when i go back to sydney i'm going to get tested for STDs but in the meantime i was thinking about buying one of those testing kits from the chemist that i think are meant to test the pH balance or something in the vagina and check for say yeast infections and stuff? i was wondering if it's worth spending the money on that or just wait for the doctors?

Strong smells are usually, not always, associated with bacterial infection. The pH testing kit will not tell you anything useful. Seeing a doctor right now could be a help. The sooner treatment is begun, the easier it is to resolve.
We all occasionally develop some kind of infections and there is no reason to avoid a local doctor.
that might make sense actually.
i've started to avoid going to the doctors here because i've had two doctors now be very unprofessional/stupid when it came to me being on the pill so i kind of don't want them to have anything to do with my sexual health any more :/ also it takes like two weeks to get an appointment anyway.
