I once read somewhere that the most sensative parts of the vagina (other than the clitoris) are the labia.I also read that is the reason why girth is sometimes considered to be more important than length.Anyone able to comment on this?

The vagina

It is not true that there are no nerve endings in the vagina. Further back toward the cervix there are very few. However, on the anterior wall there are a good amount that respond especially to sexual pleasure. It's not true that "we feel nothing inside the vagina". Sometimes pelvic pain may feel more dull or vague because of this, but a woman would still feel the pain. and you can feel what you're putting inside as well.
Okay, thanks for the info.I'm still a virgin but I figure why not learn more about female anatomy.Maybe it will help me get over my fear of actually having sex.It might also actually help me please a girl my first time. Thanks again!
OK, emoney, a little anatomy lesson. Go to any search engine and put in "female sexual anatomy." There are hundreds of sites with good anatomical drawings. You have to know the parts before you can discuss them.
The vagina is entirely internal. It has no nerves and, therefore, no feeling. It is amazingly elastic; it must expand to allow the passage of a baby. It has, biologically one purpose: to hold a penis until a semen deposit is made.
There are two sets of outer lips: The labia menora which are the small rather delicate lips that become hidden, in some women, within the outer lips. The entire outer part is the vulva.
All sensation is felt in the vulva. The inner lips are quite sensitive because they are usually protected within their big sisters and become exposed and open during sexual arousal. The clitoris is roughly the equivalent of the penis and has all the nerves of a penis crammed into a much smaller orga. It is VERY senstive and should not be treated like a penis. Female masturbation is quite subtle compared to the stroking away of male masturbation.
Because all the sensation is in the outer genitals, the pressing, spreading and rubbing is felt outside. The sense of depth that we women feel is from pressure on the outer parts and surrounding organs. We feel nothing inside the vagina.
You will be playing this game for life so learn the parts. the terminology and the functions.
for me personally, the labia aren't very sensitive at all.
The reason why girth is usually more important is because the g spot is located like...two inches inside the vagina, so you don't need an 8 inch penis to get pleasure, girth is fun though.

You use as many fingers as works for the particular lady involved. Two at least. Yes, of course but don't be lazy, mau.

But the anterior fornix is another matter. Fragile as all get out! While the rest of the vagina will 'expand' that attachment point doesn't. Get too rough and she will hurt! Guys being too aggressive when thrusting have been known to break through at this point. So, GENTLE here! Same side and just behind the G-Spot - use your hands for this one - same as in manual G-Spot stimulation. This is where the 'advanced lovers only' warning comes in - when using his penis to stimulate the ant fornix.
Okay, mau?
and if guys are scared - good - makes them pay attention
EEK, do you mean 'use FINGER for this one? Also, surely the lady can to a bit of 'rocking' so that the penis is actually making contact with the posterior fornix??
God, I am determined to get my 'advanced lover' badge!!

Tut Tut EEK.....men are not blind, although my wife used to say (when I could not find that which I was seeking, viz car keys, wallet, certain cd or whatever) "Have you looked for it? Oh god never mind, you looking for something is not like me looking for something".
We are not blind therefore, but women can look for things better than men.
Now all I need to do is check out this 'fornix' business. All so new to me. Never heard of it!!
4yrs here and you haven't read the Index?
Darling mau: around here it is "you can't find something if it doesn't immediately fall into your outstretched hands" when it comes to men looking for things.
4yrs here and you haven't read the Index?
Nope. Prefer to find things as they happen or become necessary. However, I do try not to ask questions which have maybe been asked before. Nevertheless, an answer given x years ago may not now be relevant.

Speaking of looking for things EEK, a reference to dealing with ant and post fornices warns that this is for only 'advanced lovers' or something similar.
Now that may well be the case, but this could deter some guys reading this to avoid going for these two rather important 'hotspots'.
So, can you or somebody give me a way of finding the anterior and the posterior fornix in a safe and simple way.(Please!)
Mau - the posterior fornix isn't fragile, it is just waay in the back of the vagina and down - use your penis to caress it and as the lady once said "you will know you've found it by my reaction" - don't worry, you won't miss her reaction - just like you wouldn't miss being hit with a Hiroshima fusion bomb. Best if she's already had a previous orgasm during the current interlude.

Thanks for the help. I cannot find 'The Four Hotspots'. Is that a link on this site?
The outer surfaces of the labia majora are sometimes of a different color than that of the surrounding tissue, and may be smooth or wrinkled in appearance. The skin may have the same wrinkled appearance as that of the male scrotum, their male counterpart. After the onset of puberty the outer surfaces are usually covered with hair. When a woman is sexually aroused, the labia majora may become bright red in color because of the increased blood flow to the area.
> My lady friend is concerned that her labia seem to 'be more protuding' than other females.**
How many boys/men have you seen nude during your lifetime? I ask because the shape of the Glans and size vary considerably from person to person, as does the length and girth of the shaft. Add to all this that some shafts show a vein and others not so much. A penis may list left, right, and/or tilt upward or downward, if it does not point straight ahead.
If the person still has a Foreskin, it may extend well out in front of the "Meatus" {tip of the Glans) with a straw-like protrusion; another may just cover the penis; yet another not so much.
Testicles can and do vary considerably in size from one person to the next. There is a gauge called an "orchidometer" that is a caliper used to measure the size of testes. (GOOGLE the term.) Similarly, one person's Scrotum can expand more than someone else's, thus dangling the testes further away from the body. ...and, so it goes.
** These variations to the theme are similar to what the female body has to offer. As noted, above, the Clitoris is the female equivalent of the penis. The shaft is buried beneath the skin and folds of the Vulva. The "Tip" is the same as the Glans with two major differences: first, there is no Urethra; second, it is much smaller yet with just as many sensitive nerve endings. This means that the Clitoris is vastly more sensitive to the touch!
> Are they muscular?
The Labia Minora {Inner lips) and the Labia Majora {Outer lips) are not muscular. The smaller Labia have the same origins and thus composition as the Scrotum in the male.
> Can they play an important part in intercourse? Are they a means whereby the lady can hang on to me for dear life?
No, she cannot grip you with them; however, they are quite sensitive and when fondled and kneaded, just as with the Scrotum, can add much to her pleasure and enjoyment during Foreplay activities as well as intercourse as the Penis rubs back and forth against them.
In at least one culture {I believe an African tribal) having overtly large Labia Minora are valued by men. What mothers do to their daughters in response is to knead them over the years in order to extend and enlarge them so that they protrude well outside of the larger Labia Majora. I can find no proof of this; however, it would seem pretty obvious that with these women, their inner lips would become desensitized because they are no longer protected by being within the confines of the larger lips. If true, then this lack of sensitivity would not be unlike what men experience with the Glans after circumcision because the Glans is now exposed to the elements. I wonder how many grooms in this culture have made comparisons, or, are they accepting of what has been created for them by their future mother-in-laws?
I hope this is of help. Got questions?

The labia are sensitive folds of flesh that are there to protect, by covering it up, her clitoris and the entrance to her vagina. Their sensitivity varies between women as does their shape and size. I have been informed that I am 'well hung' with larger than most clitoris and labia - highly appropriate don't you think?
There isn't a lot of room down there so everything touches something else which gives the impression of tightness/fullness/etc. Take a look at her pelvic bones from the side and imagine placing a bowling ball in there to see the point.
Please find and read the article The Four Hotspots for further information.
Labia vary as much as penises and are nothing to be concerned about. The only noteworthy thing about the different sizes is that some may be more or less sensitive based on their exposure to clothing.
Things are going well with me. My lady friend is concerned that her labia seem to 'be more protuding' than other females. Are they muscular? Can they play an important part in intercourse? Are they a means whereby the lady can hang on to me for dear life????
