Using the withdrawal method

i'm just curious about how many people use this method when they are having sexual intercourse. please no lectures because i am quite aware that it is possible to become pregnant with using this method. around 82% no pregnancy rate. However, i'm sure alot of people especially in their teens have used this method at least once(am I right?).

Also i am quite sure of this, but want to make sure. Often people say pre-cum contains a significantly large amount of sperm, but all of this sperm is the left overs in the uretha from past ejaculations, is this true?(please don't contradict withnot evidence/knowledge about the Cowper gland). Thus, if you urinate before the withdrawal method, the chances of sperm in the pre-cum is extremely low, and if you ejacuated say 2 times before using and urinated before using coitus interruptus, the chances of pregnanting a girl is very low.

I also know that this does not protect against STDs and aware that teens should not use this method, but i am just curious if alot of people have used this method before and not became pregnant. By no means am i encouraging this method.

Also , curious, how much does birth-control pills cost?

Thanks, feel free to respond to anything i said.

Josh

any method of birth control has a failure rate. and everyone's fertility is different. and what works for someone older doesn't necessarily work for someone younger since you are far more fertile in your younger years. I don't have a lot of experience but to me pulling out is like playing russian roulette. you get to wait it out til you know whether you're having a baby or not.

the pill is free in the uk

i dont think any of us intend our advice to sound like were trying to lecturing any one on anything. try and think of it as being more in line of straight forward points of our individual opinions on the subject.
with this and other similiar forums, questions asked are answered by regular folks just like you. we base our answers on personal experience or hear-say experience or weve read somewhere or were told by someone we asked or we searched internet sites and our research found, blah blah....
we are able to provide a condensed troubleshoot versio of leads of sorts to helpfully offer up different possibilities and optional views to help guide you along to help show right path to take ....
not lecturing here at yu either, just trying to clear things up about how forums are not meant to replace any professional authority in diagnosing ailments, prescribing drugs to you and/or giving dosage to take. what my dr told me pertains to my situation, my physical/mental health, i am NOT you and my dr and YOU havent talked nor have you been examined by my dr so apples and oranges really. i am not qualified to tell you "i take 10 mg twice a day" andthen have you go argue with your dr about it or why im on this drug your on that. i may weigh 200 lbs more than you and be alergic to an ingreddient or you take other meds might not react well together....
my red rash might have been poison iv, maybe yours is too or maybe hives, or chiggers or an std, i cant see your rash to know if it lookssame as mine and if i could see your rash i am not a qualified medical professional who KNOWS the difference between the two and have diagnostic means of testing to find out for sure...
what ever the cost of things, it costs it. a monthly prescription of the pill i took cost me co-pay of $10. even if it cost $100, sure a LOT cheaper than a months worth of diapers and fomula or what the cost could be of ending a pregnancy or putting a baby up for adoption .... medical corporations offer credit solutions to those who arent able to just write a check and em pay off and those who dont have insurance at all. public and private organizations at state, federal and local level offer assistance to those in need. DO NOT let lack of money EVER stop you from getting medical attention you need, dental health and prescription eyewear included. worry about your health and taking care of yourself and keping healthy FIRST, worry about paying later. read the patient bill of rights posted at the entrance ofevery hospital emergency room and KNOW you too have those rights.
no still not lecturing, just telling yu more information you need to know just so you know.
now then, back to your initial question about using pull-out as a form of birth control. hubby is now 54 and i am 45 and we have used it in addition to rythum method as our sole practice and remain childless today 23 years later and still couning, knock on wood. worked real well for friends of ours too until he quit drinking and his sperm sobered up,they just pased their 10 year anniversary, when at age 35 she got pg with their first child.
precum, actual climax cum, it only takes one tiny little sperm to fertilize one tiny little egg and bingo you two have just becum parents to a baby due to arrive in abut nine months. now you dont have to worry about your parents find out your on the pill. when they hear the news they are going to be grandparents im sure they will be so relieved to know you were sexually active but at least you werent on birth control pills. added bonus is now all the money saved by not haing the pill to buy can be used towards expense of raising their grandchild.

You should be able to get birth control pills from Planned Parenthood OR any free health clinic.  They should also supply free condoms.  Many groups do... I know all Gay Men's Health Centers do... and most bars.

I understand that hiding from your parents that you are having sex is difficult, but I would hope everyone would take some precautions.   Sex is easier to hide than pregnancy or an STD... and hiding those can be fatal.  Okay, okay... I won't preach, but I WILL continue to worry...

Take care.

You can get lube with spermicide in it, so it doesn't just come with condoms.

just curious, is spermicide foam applicable to the penis alone w/o condom? or does it damage th skin?

I just heard this myself on the Sunday Night Sex show on Oxygen channel and you are right from what this woman said.

After my daughter was born and I knew we didn't want more we used condoms and the pull out method for five years before hubby got insurrance to get fixed. It worked for us.

My sister also did the pull-out method for three years before "surprise" my second nephew came into the world.

So you know the risk and you have to do what you feel is best for you.

thanks for all the great advice, i'm beginning to feel like this forum is a great place for teens. thanks , cool ill be checking the nearest planned parenthood then

and btw, yea i think it is true people have used withdrawal but doesnt really openly discuss it.

thanks.
btw i have too, lol , but only say twice.

I think a lot of people use it... probably more than are willing to admit so.
I have before. I know it exactly wasn't the best choice but we "got away with it".

And as weird as it sounds, my guy has no precum, or at least any that I'm aware of. I've never tasted it or felt it or seen it, so I assume he has none.
He is also experienced and knows when he is going to cum, so he always pulls out in plenty of time.

And to answer your other question, you can get BC at planned parenthood.

I got to a planned parenthood clinic and they base the cost of your pills on your income so that's why mine are so cheap. And since both of you are over 18, you should be able to get them easily. All she will need to do is contact the clinic and make an appointment and she'll have to have an exam in order to get her pills and as long as she stays on the pills it'll be required for her to have a yearly exam.

thanks thats pretty cool 5$ is extremely cheap, but i would not want my parents to know. , so is it possible to get pills without insurance, are the available say at a planned parenthood?/ or local clinic, btw me and my partner are 18+ years old thanks.

yea also i have also read that the withdrawal method is around 94-95% successful, even though people belittle this method quite often, but it is very dangerous, and especially not for TEENS. but also that's if you use this method "correctly", which i guess is probably cleaning your penis/urinating before the actual intercourse, and knowning when you are about to "bust"

Well I'm not going to lecture you because obviously there's no need for that since you know the risk. And I wouldn't really have any room to talk since I've used this method a few times. My boyfriend and I have maybe used one condom in the 4 months we've been together. I was on the pill when we started dating but it wasn't effective yet so we knew there was a risk.

But the funny thing is I got bored one day and was reading a chart that was on the little pamplet that comes with the pills and the pullout method has only a 5% more risk of getting pregnant than the condom. I just found this a bit odd seeing as how the withdrawl method is supposed to be such a bad method.

And about your question about the cost of birth control pills. It just varies with brand and if you have insurance and where you get them. I pay $5 for mine but when I was on my parent's insurance they were paying 20 something $. So it just depends.
