Uncomfortable ... then losing it
this happened to me once to. A. i was uncomfortable B. she was into it more then me and C. i didnt care.

Yea you might not have been thinking about the sex you may have just been thinking about how uncomfirtable the position you are in is.
You have probably diagnosed the situation well. Especially while learning the ins and outs (no pun), comfort makes a huge difference to either partner.
Get thee to a comfortable platform and the problem will go away.
