For example, if it's your partners first time, they will prob want it to be perfect, and v.romantic, so either Boyz 2 Men- I'll make love 2 u, or Wet Wet Wet- I feel it in my fingers..., would probably be the best ones! I like punky bluesy rock, like the White Stripes or the Gossip.

I love music to which I can home in and out> it gives my memories of great sex and special occasions symbolic meaning and reference. Something relaxed like Joanie Mitchell or Joan Baez, Dido sort of thing. I had a great time with one girl once, the CD played over and over again but I never found out what it was. Every now and again I hear a snippet on TV or something and I get so frustrated.

Funny thing, for me, best thing would be any heavy metal song. Especially one from 80's. Not so much death or doom or black metal though. Doesn't matter if it's fast or slow, both could work for me.

The Thrills' album "So Much For The City" is quite good, depends on the mood. If you want something fast, try an old metal band like Iron Maiden or Black Sabbath. Steriophonics and coldplay are good for slow sessions, so is jazz and classical.

Go out and buy (or download) the animatrix soundtrack.  The hypnotic vibes of "peace orchestra" and "supreme beings of leisure" provide the ultimate "not too loud, but doesn't put you to sleep" atmosphere, so it provides that intimate setting while also having a mysterious, intriguing sound.  It's mostly trance-ish sounding, so there aren't many songs with lyrics.  Might not be right for the those wanting the more classical, traditional, wine and dancing-type music.
Me and my girlfriend both have the cd sitting in a stereo beside our beds  (Especially good perk if you or your partner are matrix fans   )
