It may take some time until you get accustomed to his size. Some soreness is expected, but you should not bleed. Look around the site about stretching out the vaginal opening, be certain you are doing enough foreplay.

You two are going to have to work on this a bit. First: stop being afraid of his penis - it isn't his girth - its his skill level that's at fault. Foreplay is most important here. After you have had 10 to 20 orgasms, then he should work on getting his orgasm as quickly as possible while you're in afterglow and thus nicely relaxed, re-applying lube as needed as you two move along.
