The latest stuff I have read, and it is from interview data with women, say that the typical sex act lasts 3-13 minutes.

There is a wide latitude here, ranging from "not quite in" to too damned long for comfort.

if your'e worried about cumming to quick there are a few options.. the squeeze and hold technique, either thinking non sexually, slowing it down as you say and embracing the moment, or plain and simple what seems to work for me.. just relax. if your relaxed and enjoy it you or your partner wont notice how long it has been as any time has been good.

I do not believe there is an average time. Each person is different. Each session is different. Each lead up to the next climax within a session is different.

To expand upon the last statement, and assuming for the sake of discussion that the situation goes "perfectly", if a guy masturbates shortly before having sex, the duration will be different than if he does not; moreover, if he has not had a climax in a day or two (or more) the time to climax will most likely be quite short. Lastly, it depends upon how worked up (aroused) the person is and how much time was devoted to getting him to the brink of an orgasm.

Why are you concerned? What does it matter? It sounds like you want to fit into some standard when there is none. Doing so makes all the fun more of a science than an art; more mechanical and structured than playful and fun.

Doc makes a good point - you shouldn't aim for a "standard" but rather try and make sex as enjoyable for both of you as it possibly can be. I've had great sessions that last a couple of hours and ones that were just as good that were about 5 - 10 minutes.

It's not about the number of minutes, or orgasms, or anything else - it's about how much you both enjoy the experience and how well you guys end up connecting together.

as many times as it takes could be an issue.. once is generally enough just before you go out..

Considering doing it as many times as it takes you might do it say 2-3 times and well come the big event your just not 'up for it' so to speak, lol each is different but this might play a factor and well. im sure i'd know which one i'd rather..
