Have you investigated problems with hygene?

Personally, I have engaged in conversations with people having jewelry of various sorts in their mouth and I find it distracting and uncouth watching them try to show it off and play with it while talking.

Have you talked to anyone who had one and no longer wears it?

Personally, I would never allow a tongue ring inside me. Oral from my bf is more than wonderful already without adding in little doohickeys the possible ramifications of which i don't even want to contemplate.

As a side note, I knew a guy in college with a tongue stud. He was an elementary school education major and did a practicum in a first grade. Forgot it was there and started playing with it in the classroom, and a child saw and asked him about it. Wasn't a great moment.

I have a tongue ring, in the standard place a normal person would.

Let me say now unless you are giving a man oral or anything of the sort, very good chances are all your tongue ring will benefit is making out, because 9/10 times she will not feel the tongue ring when giving oral since it is so far back. At least every male I have ever known to give oral to a female including me uses MOSTLY the tip of their tongue but not much farther.

Also Doc brings a huge point, there is a HUGE risk in getting paralyzed completely on one side of your face if done wrong, I wish I had known this before I got mine. I have no damage but I wouldn't have gone through with it considering that risk.

Overall it's going to be mostly for yourself if you enjoy piercings, look at it that way.

Yariome is right on the nose! Sex on a girl's end does not feel better when a guy has a tongue piercing. Even when there are multiples. I actually cut my tongue once from kissing a guy who had multiple tongue piercings. It's not pleasant. Now I don't have one myself but from what friends and exes have told me... it hurts having it done, you have to learn how to talk again once you get it, and most girls really don't find it attractive. Learn to give good oral without it if that's the only reason you are considering having it done. If you are really into the whole piercing everything love pain thing then fine...add it to your collection. Just think it through really hard before you get it done so that you don't regret it later.

i just want to say something to what dancingdoc said... biting your tongue does hurt, but from experience, i rather get my tongue pierced again 20 times over b4 ever bitting my tongue again. I got my tongue pierced when i was 16, just for the fact of saying i did it too.. and now that i am 21 and i still have it.. i am thankful i got it cause it has turned on all the guys i have been with and its fun... i never play with it to show it off.. and beleive it or not, my boss didnt notice it till 2 years after hiring me.. figure that one one.... so i guess my point is.. it doesnt hurt as much as biting your tongue does.. different nerves in the center of ur tongue as the edges...

I find tongue and other piercings are a turn off. I can't imagine ever doing any of them, and i just really do not like the look of someone with a stud in their tongue, or rings in their lips, nose, ect

I wouldn't let a guy with a tongue ring eat me out.. I'd be way too paranoid about infections occuring since the tongue ring would carry various bacteria
