I have had ED problems for some time (see my other most recent post in this forum) and came across this link:
[url=http://www.healthystrokes.com/]Healthy Strokes - Masturbation and More
It was a bit scary because I have, for 20 years, masturbated PRONE. I rarely if ever masturbate in the traditional fashion.
Can anyone confirm the link between masturbating prone and ED? Can someone review this site and let me know if it is valid?
Thank you.

That is very real. Wow, it never entered my mind during your other posts. I remember hearing from an individual on this site with TMS. I just did a search and found a lot of sites discussing this, but all pretty much say the same thing. I would mention this to your doctor. I have read that you can "re-train" yourself to conventional masturbation techniques, but you can NEVER do it in the prone position again. This will take time and patience. If I'm remembering correctly you were already cutting down on masturbating so you need to continue with that. Good luck.
This is a theoretical construct of a cognitive behavioural therapist who reported it based upon four men in his practice who reported it, No medical studies have been done. Most of the posting online is based upon self- diagnosis and individuals looking for a reason for their own sexual dysfunction.
The whole thing has been pretty well dismissed by the medical community and the two urologists whom I rang both said it is nonsense. The one website cited is the only original site addressing this. The rest are knockoffs or discussion groups in which the topic was cited. All citations in the literature (none in peer-reviewed professional journals) can be tracked back to Sank's original four cases.
Talk to a urologist who really knows male sexual dysfunction.
Here's an article that weighs the fors and againsts:

I will be cautioning my son about it when the time comes for me to talk to him about it.
Interesting.
Tell me Brandeye, has there been much research on the effects of masturbating prone or is it that it simply does nothing?
If it does nothing, why can't I ejaculate from doing it the usual way?
Thanks for your input.
For the record, I've had sex hundreds of times now and have never ejaculated from any intercourse nor even come close. Hand jobs (by professionals) have come close but never gotten me there. Masturbating prone is the only way I can get off.
Also, I've talked to a urologist about the issue and he had nothing to say to me at all. Pretty much as useless as a tit on a bull. It was disappointing, but I know that doctors are just doctors, not gods.
Still waiting for a reply Brandeye (or Doc for that matter).
Help a guy out here please.
Thanks!
Thanks for waiting. I have been gone for three weeks.
There has been next to no research done on this topic. If you do a search on google you can find what I reported above. There are no medical studies that I know of and the urologists I know consider it a non-issue. It is likely that the urologist you spoke with simply knew nothing about the topic. I would suggest you ask for a referral to a urologist who specializes in male sexual dysfunction.
BTW, here's another example of a person afflicted (as am I) with TMS.

Isn't it about time that doctors invest some research on this? Or is that there's no pill they can sell to make money? (that jab may be unjustified, but many others can make the same complaint)...
