Well, me and my girlfriend decided tonight that we were going to try to have sex. Well, first time I put it in, she said there was no pain at all, second time I did, she screamed and pushed me away, I looked down, and there was blood running down from the lower part of her vaginal opening.
Is it possible that I hit too low the second time? Or somehow... I'm just confused.

> Thought Hymen Tore On First Penetration?
Sometimes, yes; sometimes, no.
Much has been written and discussed about the topic on this site. In western societies where women tend to be physically more active, the hymen of a woman or girl can be innocently broken by participating in sporting activities or something like horseback riding. The hymen can also be opened with the use of Tampons.

A hymen can assume many forms. It can be an annular ring that partially or completely blocks the entrance; it can also have one or more openings of various sizes in the middle. What may have happened, and it is only an educated guess, is that the first time you had intercourse, your penis went in alongside the hymen and vaginal wall. If not, the other possibility is that the tip was placed against an opening that was large enough for the penis to go inside. Of the two, I tend to think the former is more likely.
The second time, your penis butted up against the membrane and pushed against it causing her discomfort. Like any minor wound, it will take several days to heal, however, you can have intercourse as long as he does not complain.

Hope this shed some light on the matter.
What is most likely in your case is that her hymen separated from the surrounding tissue - mostly, on the first penetration but was still dangling there. On your second attempt, it was torn from a sensitive spot. Not usually a big deal. A few days off and she should be OK. We do recommend that women have a gyn exam before becoming sexually active. If she did not, now is the time.
I think she wants to get the exam after she moves away... her parents are, frankly, crazy, and would go ballistic if the gyn told them her hymen was torn....
Either way, I managed to get two fingers in without any pain on her part after that, so I think it's good for the moment. =) But I'll make sure she gets an exam soon.
Moves away where??? To college?
I mean the DR isn't going to tell them anything.... and hymens can tear many different ways.
I don't even think I really had one by the time I first had sex. I had used tampons and had been fingered... so I didn't even bleed my first time.
The first gyn I went to was the at the health clinic at my college... since use of it was included in the Health Fee of my tuition.. I didn't have to pay for my visits.. and I got the pill pretty cheap.
Yeah, college, sorry about the lack of information.
