Tearing skin during sex

I'm asking this for a friend on behalf of his girlfriend, so bear with me... he says that every time they have sex, his girlfriend ends up with a lot of pain because her skin is tearing. He says that it looks, from the diagrams, like it's the posterior forchet area, or a little above; and that it gets worse with deeper penetration. I'd never heard about it and figured I'd take it to the experts (*cough* Brandye :p) and suggested that the girl in question see her own gynecologist, but was wondering if there's any further information for them.

See her gyn! I suspect that proper lube and use of poly condoms rather than latex would help but this should not be an ongoing issue. Get it checked.

Hey cool, I got it right. That's almost verbatim what I said. :) Thanks Brandye!

Sounds like what I'm experiencing ...

Then see your gyn.

I don't have a gyn

Every woman should have a gyn exam BEFORE becoming sexually active. OK, many do not.

Any woman who is experiencing difficulty with sex (like constant tearing) MUST see a gyn. You are playing with your health or, at least, sexual functioning.

What you are experiencing is not normal and should be checked by someone who can help - a gyn. Our female genitals may not present much to look at, but their working right is much more complex than most realize. Believe me, you want them to work right.

If the screwed up US medical system (I am a Scot) does not provide the care, see a women's clinic in any major city.

I'm in the UK ... can you imagine GPs referring everyone to a gynaecologist before they become sexually active?? Might give the graduating medical students more hope of a job if they did that!

Is that what you have to do see your GP to get a gyn referal in the UK

Most GPs will do the exam. I am neither and do them all the time. I also make refer to consultants when things seem amiss.

And given the number of my colleagues with accents not formed in the UK, I do not believe that many graduating students are not finding jobs.
