If you have no issues with him going to one, then you can let him go. If you want to see what it is like, then go with him to see what goes on. If you want to go with him, then just jump in! If you do not like the idea, then, do not do something just to make him happy if it is going to negatively affect your relationship. However, if it is something you think will bring you closer, or something that he would enjoy, even though you would be indifferent, then there is no reason to not do something that he would enjoy.
