My wife is now 8 months pregnant and she's a little worried about this one. This is our second and she's scared of a cesarean because this baby seems bigger than the first(which she did tear slightly giving birth to). At about 7 months she was already bigger than when she was due with our first. She was worried about tearing and a possible cesarean so she found an article online about stretching excercises to increase her flexibility.
Now these stretching excercises aren't really something she can do with the belly in the way (it's basically sticking a few fingers from each hand in and gently stretching the walls) and it's something I wouldn't feel comfortable doing for her (I imagine myself imitating Jack Nicholson's "HERE'S JOHNNY!" act). So I remembered seeing some inflatable sex toys online [URL="http://www.seekingo.com/buy/sex_toys_for_women/Dildos/Plastic_._Rubber_D..."]http://www.seekingo.com/buy/sex_toys_for_women/Dildos/Plastic_._Rubber_D...
that might help with this. We don't want to just get an X inch wide dong and force it in her so we figured this was a more subtle approach.
The only concern we (or rather "I") have is if this will affect her in the long run. Of course the baby's head is going to be umpteen times wider than that inflatable dildo but I'm still worried that the repetitious stretching excercises may make her "looser" than if she didn't use it all. She was fine after the first baby since I'm of decent girth (I think and hope...at about 1.5" in diameter). But I think that inflatable dildo stretches out to about 2" so that worries me a little bit since it will be put to use almost daily for the last few weeks of her pregnancy.
Is this anything to worry about? I told her that I'll let her get it if she promises to do Kegals after she recovers but will this be enough to keep her within the pleasureable range that she's currently in? Well I guess the decisions already made since I would prefer a looser feel over her having to go through surgery (what a gentleman I am, huh?) I guess I'm just looking for opinions and advice.

8 months preg? I would leave it alone...I don't see how stretching is going to "stay-put" for a month...even an inch is not going to help all that much. First, I would not be introducing objects into the canal at this time. Secondly, during the birthing process, when the cervix is dilated and effaced the canal widens, the OB does "massaging" of the vaginal opening to prevent tearing. I've been in a fair amount of delivery rooms and have not seen many tears lately b/c of the massage. But if the delivery is too quick then they go for the episiotomy...Go with her for the next OB appointment and ask the doctor!
She just mentioned that she found an article online about how some DIY stretching can help. Not sure how reliable that information was but we figured it wouldn't hurt and should at least relax the walls a little bit. Is it that bad to be sticking stuff in?
I wouldn't like to give advice on this one. I would suggest that you visit a good doctor or gynochologist (sp?) to get an expert opinion. It sounds risky to me.
Starting to prepare by stretching i the last month will do no good. Should have begun a few months earlier.
why wait till your pregnant to stretch.
use the expaning ballons now and enjoy the fun of feeling your bvaginal canal spread wide open.
i like to use one of those foam footballs that are in the toy stores.
have someone push it in slow and watch your tummy have a small bump like your pregnant. then stand up and walk around.
dont take it out for a while. maybe take a drive around town and let the bumps on the road make the foam rubber football move inside.
I just love having fun with it. especially when the tummy pushes out and it looks like i am pregnant.
the fun is slipping it out and you will want to keep it in after you feel empty without it.
try letting oit stay insied the vagina for 2 hours. i did and it was wonderfull.
