Well, not directly, but I had taken a cancer class a number of years ago in college and they had a neat demonstration. A pregnant lady (naturally) had a thermal image taken of her hand, showing all the heat and whatnot down to the fingertips. You could see how the blood was flowing essentially, because the hand glowed red with warmth. She then goes outside to have a cigarette, and then comes back in for another shot. In the second there's so much vessel constriction that her hand shows almost blue in the thermal scan. You almost couldn't make out the outline of her fingertips.
Now was this bunk science or not? Who knows. But in any event, smoking does cause constriction in blood vessels. And since erections are the exact opposite of that, I would think it could be connected in my armchair quarterback opinion.
Not bunk science; nicotine has that effect. Also, the clogged lungs reduce the available oxygen and the heart works harder to do the same thing - get it up. Yes, ASA is a vaso-dilator but will not compensate. Smoking can be a contributor to ED.
The same things affect different people to more or less an extent. Also what happens to a 20 something isn't quite the same as what happens to a 60 something. Yes, smoking can contribute to ED. Lots of things can including diet, fitness level and hydration. You can't just think of one thing as a cause.
and my comment while not on point is still relevant as far as I'm concerned.
SMOKING stinks.
Residual smoke fouls the air, clothing, skin, breath, mouth, and hair. Whether there is a connection with ED or not, who wants to get close to a person who smokes, particularly if this is a new friendship hoping to become a relationship? As a Ballroom dancer, I sometimes dance with women who smell to high heaven, perfume or not! It is not always easy, convenient, or polite to decline a request for a dance. Be assured it will be one turn around the floor only.
True, but it doesn't make it any less disgusting. Not only is it a disgusting habit but its a habit that affects others who don't smoke as well. I wouldn't date anyone who smokes either. Sorry.

Take care...

and so can you. Smoking is more disgraceful than disgusting. But that's just me.
