like Doc said it can be any number of things from the smell of sweat to the smell of body fluids. Also prolonged sex, will release more scents that may linger in a closed up room. Open the window or turn on a fan and it should dissipate quickly enough
given that various food can change the smell of your sweat and urine it doesn't seem so far fetched that it would affect semen also. I know if I drink a particularly yeasty beer, that my urine and semen smell differently
I have too been surprised about the specific and nice smell that comes through sex, particularly through long and passionate sessions. To me; it's a smell that surrounds you both, lingers in the room, stays on your skin everywhere. I do think it is a mixture of the scent of several bodily fluids (sweat, vaginal fluids, semen) that together create such a perfume. My guess would be that this is likely influenced by hormones. Since during sex there's this little bomb of feel-good-hormones exploding inside your body and pheromones must be running wild. Other things may off course contribute. What you've been eating hours prior (just like many know eating garlic will become apparent through your sweat). Some women may have noticed their sweat and vaginal fluids smell slightly different throughout their cycles. The use of perfume, deodorant, hair-products, etc may change this overall smell. Not to mention that everyone just simply has a unique individual scent.
Typically; I even used to be able to smell it on my sister when she had had sex. And this was not a matter of bad hygiene or left-over semen inconveniently leaking out (since she practiced safe sex. and I'm not sure if you could really smell that on a person through their clothes, but: who knows? ;)). It was just a slight difference in her normal overall scent. She was so surprised when she told me she secretly had a bf and I said I actually already knew, because I could smell it on her :rolleyes:

Have you tried to localize the aroma to a particular body area?
Is the aroma just in the room?
It could be perspiration. A combination of perspiration and perfume.

I'd be inclined to believe that it's the smell of sweat mixed in with pheromones.
Of course, that can easily explain why you might like the smell of after sex... :D
