My gf and i have a problem with our height. I am about 6'5 and she is maybe 5'6. What is the easiest way to compensate for that difference? Positions like doggy style are nigh impossible because i am so much taller than her.

For doggy try putting a pillow or something under her knees-may help lift her a bit. I have a similar height difference to yours with my bf. We do a lot of me on top riding him. Also try her on her back with her legs propped onto your shoulders. That will help lift her into better position for you, similar to a Scarf for when you go down on her, but not quite so high.
Try standing at the edge of the bed instead of being on the bed with her.

A long time ago, my parents had this couch where the big, heavily padded end/arm rest was right at my crotch height. The light went on in my head one day as my then girlfriend was riding me- Why don't I bend her over the end of the couch?
Since then, every couch or sofa I've bought has had an armrest of just the right height.
Moral of the story, is to look around, be creative, use furniture or any other every day object, and adapt it to enhance your sex life.
