Hey everyone. Earlier I bought some lubricant and I didn't realize it at the time but it was silicone lubricant which I like because I know it lasts a lot longer than most water based lubricants. Anyway, I was just wondering, is it okay for for anal sex?

Hmmm..should be, then again I don't know too much on lube. But for anal, it should be fine

Maybe yes...maybe no.
Use a water-based lubricant when using a latex condom. A cautionary note is to understand that these lubes do tend to dry out faster, therefore, must be replenished frequently. You do not want to let the anus and/or the passageway dry out. Anytime there is some discomfort, even mild--add more--a lot more. When lubricating this part of the anatomy, if you believe you are using enough, add more.
DO NOT use flavored lubes of any type.
DO NOT use oil products either.
There is one silicone-based product that was developed specifically for anal play: Pjur Analyse Me

Ack no! You have it backwards.
The simethicone and dimethicone(main ingredients) in silicone based lube should not deteriorate latex condoms. They *will* dissolve other solid silicone based products such as toys or silicone coated household items. Exposing silicone objects to silicone based lube will result a gummy, slippery mess where the ruined parts of the toy will end up on or inside whoever happened to be using it at the time and it will be very difficult to remove.
Regardless, while silicone is supposedly inert and works very well because it lasts forever - it lasts forever! I wouldn't want that stuff to be stuck inside the body where only a couple cells are between it and the bloodstream....and you are very likely to have minute tears to that wall regardless of how careful you are.
Reread fun's post. The rub some silicone based luba on your hands and see how long it takes to get it of. Roughly a week from next Thursday! I would not put that stuff on any part of me.
