hey ppls, i've recently started shaving b/c i though my bf would like it, and well he did... a lot, not too big of a surprise. I want to keep it up but the razor burn is killer, and it doesnt last half a week. So my solution Bikini wax! but its way to expensive in salons. Has anyone done an at home bikini wax and have any tips?

Ye, do not do it at home...nasty & painful. Makes a mess. If you thought razor burn was bad, do waxing a full Brazilian yourself....
When using a razor, always use a sharp blade, even if you must change it frequently. Shave with the grain.
An alternative to shaving would be trimming; in other words, keep and maintain a very short hairdo.
I've used Veet Cool Wax Strips and they work pretty good. The hair needs to be...I forget a few mm or something? All you can do really is the bikini line and the mound region. Trying to do the labia is impossible. You can't bend that way to pull it correctly. But I've found the bikini area and mound region is where I usually get ingrowns or bumps anyways. So its no biggie.
Even if I don't get ALL the hair waxed, it makes shaving SOOOOO much better. It lasts for about 2-3 weeks, grows in finer, and once again easier to shave. I usually only do that in the summer though (bathing suit season) so I don't have to keep shaving my bikini line, every other day.
But sometimes I do it for special occassions too. I usually just get the hair grow the week of my period and then wax afterwards...and it will be good again till my period comes again, etc.
Waxing during a period is awful. Veet is okay for the areas mentioned and touch ups. But if you want a full Brazilian...in all truthfulness of what it entails. You need a pro. Sally Hansen has a lavender hot wax...you microwave it and apply to small areas. Again very limiting. FYI...the mound hurts the most!
Sorry but the trade off is not worth it - pain and for what? Smooth? Please! Time, money, and pain - for little or no return. Makes no sense when with a bit of snipping you have a cute little patch of snuggly fur that only needs once a month to keep in trim! As for the answer "guys like it", 1. who is the domme here? and 2. guys will do almost anything for sex - why are you worrying?
I prefer a nice thick bush. Maybe I am old fashioned. I was with a woman who shaved once and even though I could not see the razor stubble I could feel it with my penis. A big fluffy muff is fun to run fingers through, it feels soft on the penis and face and every woman I have been with, except the shaved one, considered having her pubes stroked and tugged to be a turn on.

Well, as I've said before, its personal choice only. Some people like shaved, some don't. There is no right or wrong, whatever you prefer is right for you.
