I have been seeing my boyfriend now for nearly a year and I go up and see him every weekend, we have sex three times a day over the weekend.

Then I developed a swelling on my left labia in September and it has only just gone. It was not a bartholin cyst. The swelling was on the left side of my inner labia, from my clitoris to my vaginal opening. It was so bad, it protruded out of my outer lips. It was not painful, it did not leak or anything. It was just unsightly. When my boyfriend and I had sex, it would swell up loads, then when I go home in the week, it goes down a little, then when we have sex again the following weekend, it would puff up again. However, it was not painful during intercourse. If anything, having that swelling heightened the pleasure.

I was given antibiotics by my doctor and that did not shift it, however, he referred me to the hospital. The gynae consultant said that it was a hernia and that he would have to refer me to a surgeon to have a look at it and if necessary, it would have to be operated on, this is two days before Christmas! That doctor then got a registrar and she said it was a hernia as well, while the both examined me, they were very rough pulling at my intimate area. It was horrible, I was so uncomfortable. I am still waiting on this surgeon to get back to me! Imagine if I was still going out of my mind with the worry?!! I knew it could not have been a hernia, because it was filled with fluid, surely if it was a hernia, I would have felt a muscle! I went to another hospital straight after, for a second opinion and the doctor was shocked or taken aback when i said hernia!

The swelling has completely gone now, I just wish I took a picture of it while I had the swelling so I can see how bad it was. I have a nice vagine now! lol The swelling has not come back.

My boyfriend and I do not use condoms, neither of us have STIs, so I guess It must have been because of loads of sex over a short space of time.

Has this happened to anyone else?
