after me doc having tried several times over many years to do a smear test (pap) on me and never having one done successfully at all, (they cant get the speclum in me) i have now recieved an appt for having this done, as you can imagine im beside myself with totall fear at the moment, it was bad enough for me when she did a vaginal swab 3 months back,
can anyone tell me if they will do this with some sort of anethetic? i.e. entenox or similar, i think this is the only thing that willl work for me to get thr this due to the sheer pain i have when they try. i have 2 weeks to wait now and i know that im going to make things worse by me worrying about this but i really cant help it at all. please dont give me the speech that every woman has this done and i will be fine and it dont hurt as i know how much pain im in when they have only got the speclum in 1/2 inch. what can i do now while we still have time to make arrangements to insist that they do this in a way i can cope and hopefully get this over and done with rather than waste my and there time? |

i have had no luck at all with the phone number you gave me so i changed my gp in the mean time, she has sent me direct to the gyn and they are planning to do this. im not happy at all about it. i have phoned them to see about making arrangements for the gas and air but they cant say yes or no to it at all, im not prepared to even go if they cant guarentee that happening, im not wasting anyones time going there just to end up in tears from the pain and nothing being done

ok i have been yesterday and although she didnt actually do anything at all she had read my notes and has agreed that i will require putting to sleep for any proceedure, so while doing that they are going to go in with a camera and have a good look around but also said about doing something caled novasure, thats where they remove the lining which will help with the amount of loss, i had a read about this and im not so sure if its a good idea or not to be honest, seems an awful lot of ladies are having worse problems after this than beforehand, also if they find anything going on in there they will sort that out at the time too. shame they cant do anything to get rid of the vestobulodynia tho

I was gone for a while and did not note your last post.
Has a doctor diagnosed vestbulodynia or is that a self-diagnosis? Has the procedure been done and was a novasure included? How are you doing with it all?

the vestibulodynia was diagnosed a long time back by my gp and a private doctor in london around 5 yrs ago, as for getting anything done im stilll waiting, and to be honest the way the health authorities are in our area i wont hold my breath as we seem to be kept waiting forever and a day for anything around here, so while i wait each month im bleeding and losing large clots, and my life seems to revolve around when my next period is going to be.
