Irregular periods at 20?

I first got my period in either 6th or 7th grade and my period is still very irregular. Throughout high school I only got it one every 3 months, but I was a 3 sport athlete so that was normal. Then my junior year I was getting it every 2 weeks so I went on birth control for a little over a year. Stopped using them cause I wasn't having sex.

My period was fairly normal after that, I got it every 1- 1 1/2 months but again it's all screwy and I didnt get it for 5 months. I'm back on birth control, but I am worried that this isn't normal. I'm almost 21 and my period is still not regular. I'm worried in the future when I want to have children I wont be able to.

Not at all unusual. It is worth discussing with your gyn at the next appointment but many women into their twenties are still not regular. Some report that pregnancy was what straightened them out. No to worry.

well that makes me feel better. If its normal then I kinda dig not having a period every month hahaha. But then again I always think I'm pregnant cause of it ha. Win some, lose some.
