I think it can b/c the pills lowers the amount of testosterone a woman produces therefore lessening the "drive". If you g/f takes the pills for medical reasons... not just for pregnancy protection... then she should talk to her DR about options/alternatives. I mean everyone wants a healthy sex life... but for some women.. their periods are UNBEARABLE!!! and BC pills help that! I always found it ironic you take the pills to avoid pregnancy but if you have no libido.. then you aren't gonna get pregnant anyhow! lol

YES, the pill can cause her to lose desire. My wife and I had come to the somewhat misguided conclusion that she just didn't need much sex to be happy. I told her I didn't think it was normal, we were newly weds having sex between 1-3 times month. I became sure that she just didn't enjoy sex with me, to the point that I'm in therapy. I'd last like 20 seconds because I was so worried about disappointing her. It was a mess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fast forward a bit and she's been off the pill for 6 weeks no. Suddenly, she feels the need for more sex and genuinely seems to want it. She went on the pill when she was 17 because her cramps were unbearable so she really doesn't know what her sex drive was like before she went on it. To top it all off, her first period since coming off the pill was the least cramps she can remember ever having. The pill can definitely lower a womens libido, even if the doctors and drug companies claim it does not. |

I think you should talk to her about seeing the doc and switching pills. I did and now I'm hornier than ever!! Before switching my pills I was on Seasonale and had no sex drive, was moody, and just not very fun to be around. I now take Yasmin and things are much better. She and you need to find the right pill so you both will be happy.
