Question Yeast infection?

I'm pretty sure that I have a yeast infection but I'm not finding information on the web of what I want. I'm curious as if using lots of lube during foreplay and sex could cause a yeast infection or if toys could cause it? Also any websites that show a REAL picture of what the outside and inside of the vagina look like during a infection. It says it looks like cottage cheese, but mine doesn't and never has when I've had them before. I'm just trying to get as much information on them as possible so I can prevent having them. Tired of infections. Thanks.

If you have never had a yeast infection, it is worthwhile having it checked out. Bacterial vaginitis has much in common with fungal vaginitis or a yeast infection. The one big indicator of bacterial is that it smells foul. Otherwise, they have similar symptoms - itching, redness, sometimes a cheesy accumulation between the labia. This last is controlled if you practice good hygiene.

Lube should not cause yeast infections, not should toys unless they have been previously infected by you or someone else. One thing that can and few people consider is your partners mouth. The human mouth is an ideal environment to grow yeast. So, obviously those wonderful sessions of his going down on you could be a factor. A good mouthwash (BreathRx is often recommended by dentists) can solve that problem.

If there is no particularly bad smell, use one of the commercial yeast treatments over the counter. If this really persists, see a doctor. Much of what wrong down there share symptoms.

Well we had a two day sex party between the two of us. There was tons of rubbing and lube being used. I read on a site that astroglide contains sugar and that helps the yeast grow. I didn't know at first that I had a yeast infection until several hours after we were done because I was sore and a little swollen from play. After a while I realized that it itched a little and I noticed a white discharge when I went to the bathroom. It is not like cottage cheese but almost like if you put a tiny piece of toilet paper and soaked it with water. It's not a terrible itch and there isn't a smell. I'm going to get some Monistat tomorrow but I was curious about other ways that you could get infections. I know being moist and warm a lot can help it grow, sitting for very long periods of time (wheelchair bound), and having sex or using a toy with someone who has it. This is all that I read off some sites but none of them were consistant about different ways you can get it. I was just curious if anyone here knew anything different.

Do not rule allergies - soap, lube, latex. Sugar would feed the yeast and I guess that is another reason to avoid some lubes. Never heard that; the silicon is bad enough.

For a while, at least, stay with the water based lubes - Surgilube or K-Y.

Hi,
Yeast is naturally resides in our bodies and in general it is harmless. However when the body falls out of balance, the overgrowth in yeast occurs leading to a yeast infection. While there are many causes of the overgrowth in yeast, finding it and addressing this problem can stop recurrent yeast infections for good. The symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection are: vulvar itching, burning, a thick white vaginal discharge, burning when urinating and pain during sexual intercourse. Those that suffer from chronic yeast infections – can be affected as much as 6-8 times a years.Besides these symptoms an overgrowth in yeast can also be responsible for urinary problems, tiredness, fatigue, acne, memory loss and joint aches.

I believe that I have read somewhere before that a yeast infection can sometimes occur if you use a lubricant that contains glucose. The glucose is what yeast feeds on.

True. I have never heard of a lubricant made with any of the sugars, but if you find one, avoid it.
