tilted uterus
simply put, i've got one. i've looked at all of the other threads concerning them, and i understand that it's quite common, and can possibly give me trouble conceiving and being pregnant when i decide to have a baby. i've had pains during sex because of it, and have talked with my gyn about it, etc.
However i was just curious as to what causes one to have a tilted uterus. I was told that i probably was born with it, and in talking with my mother, discovered that she doesn't have one, nor does my sister. It seems to me that it's not a hereditary sort of thing, and it's obviously not a disease of any kind, so i was just wondering if anyone knew why some women have them and others do not, excepting that it's just how God intended and what not. ![]() |

It is a specifically female examination by a doctor who is familiar with those parts. Every woman should have an exam before becoming sexually active. We recommend by age 16. How did you learn that you have a tilted uterus? That does not show externally.
Read the damned sticky and you will not need to ask this question. Two posts ago you say you are scared to have one and now you are asking what it is.

thank brandye.
iloveanimals: if you're sexually active, you need an exam.ask your mum. you're over 19, which makes you older than i am, which means you should definitely have one, just to make sure everything is properly developed and functioning. I've talked to my gyno about it, and she concurs with brandye about having children, but also told me that about 30% of women have a tilted uterus, and that it really usn't a big deal. you're only 19, so when it comes time to being pregnant and having kids, just go to your doctor, talk to them about it, and carry on. the gyn exam isn't scary either. read the sticky. and remember to be 100% honest with your gynocologist. your health is more important than your dignity. |
