Bumps.
Basically, I have an area of "bumpy" skin inside the vagina. I am led to believe this is quite normal.
I experienced some pain during intercourse, particularly in this area. This turned out to be a latex allergy. However... the pain is now sometimes there, even minus the latex. I know I should see a doctor if I am worried and all, but since I can't run up to a gyn right this second but am worried right this second... frankly, is this normal? I don't know if it's just prone after the latex irritation or what... =/ |

No advice can be given without examination. This is one reason we recommend a gyn exam before becoming sexually active. Now, that is the only thing you can do. Could be the lingering allergy; could be many other things.

Thanks for the input. It's about time I saw the gynaecologist. Last time I went to the doctors because I figured I needed to see one, the nurse did an external examination of my abdomen/pelvis and sent me on my way...
Guess I'm gonna have to put my foot down. |

I spoke to the doctor and she said it could very well be leftover inflammation. I was given a cream to use for two weeks, but she didn't take a look because I'm on my period. If the problem goes away in those two weeks, I forget about it, if not I go back and she takes a look. Sound about right?

Sounds fine. Latex allergy is funny. Once you develop it, the original site will often become inflamed no matter where on your body it is triggered. You could for instance scrape carrots or peel tomatoes (both high in latex) and the bumps,as the original site, would show up again.
Using a cream and staying away from anything containing latex would be the recommendation. So long as she looks.
