Exclamation painful period..

A lot of times, I have really bad periods, most where I just need to lay down with a heating pad, some exedrin and I go to sleep and I'm fine, but today, when I woke up, I felt perfectly fine, went to work, thats when the trouble started..

my cramps started to get really bad..my legs went numb, I could barley walk..but I could still feel the cramping pain.. I got very lightheaded and dizzy, my mouth is very dry, I'm shakey, and I feel very sick like I have to puke..

I'm cold in some spots, warm in others.. my head is cold, but I'm sweating..

has anyone experienced anything like this??
is it my period? or something else??

thanks--
Nirvana

Without knowing temp, heart rate and a few other things, diagnosis is not real. It soulds to me that you are coming down with the flu at the same time your period is starting. Lots of women have experienced similar and coinciding with the period, we tend to not know what to blame. Stop by a clinic or your doctor. The numbness is disturbing.

I would make it a point to get to the doc/walk in clinic/ or ER, ASAP.

Not knowing your sexual history, much less last exam being done, you need to get seen.

Do not wait.

with the numbness in the legs, i used the wrong wording.. weak and wobbily is more like it.. like i just ran a few laps.
also, my stomach is very weak, and i cant bring myself to take even one bite of anything. my fiance aggrees with the flu idea..

I would still be concerned; two points:
1- The flu.
2- Excessive bleeding either internally or externally.

Unless your fiance has a medical background & has examined you take it from both of us & get seen. Your symptoms can mimic a whole host of not so great things...you should be seen for an appropriate dx.

Call the insurance company or call your mom at work...get the numbers on the card.

If you just got over a bladder infection? I suggest you get to the doc or ER----NOW!

I do not know how that stuff works in the US but would the doc's office not have your family info on file?

I am glad that you clarified the bit on numbness. That does make a bit of difference. Do not get in a panic but do get to your doctor. Sera is right. If you are at risk of pregnancy (a penis in you since your last period), it is important that you get this checked as soon as you can.

We women spend fifteen percent of fecund lives having periods. As a result, many symptoms are blamed on our periods when they are something else entirely. What you describe is likely not related to your period. If, however, the symptoms originate in your reproductive tract, it could be anything from a misplaced tampon to an ectopic pregnancy. No way to tell without more history or current signs.

Do not waste your time asking us; get to see a doctor.
