Discharge

ok so, i was recently eating out my gf, and i noticed this white mucus like discharge, it didn't smell bad like anything out of the ordinary, her vagina had a normal smell like always, but it was just weird seeing this white discharge. i never seen it before, but then again, this was the first time i looked, is this white discharge normal for a female to have? and does it relate to her period that she has every month?

Quite normal. Not directly related to her period but it may vary during her menstrual cycle.

i get that a few days after my period. it lasts a day or two. really grosse, but then i didn't design the female reproductive organs or i would have had them smelling like roses and tasting like chocolate, lol.
hey, brandye, i thought it WAS related to the menstrual cycle.

If, as an individual, a woman gets a heavy discharge each month, then, yes, it is clearly related. What was originally described could be but is more likely a passing low grade indection. The menstrually dictated increased lubrication around ovulation is usually simply just the normal lube but more of it.

The discharge following a period is not typical. It is ok so long as it is not particularly smelly. If it had a foul smell, get it checked.

get it checked! why? what could it be? i never thought anything of it before. i mean no harm. i didn't think. what causes the bad smell? and how bad is a bad smell anyway. i mean vaginas are always gonna smell, wet, warm, bactiria etc. now you have me worried and wondering what my vagina should smell like, lol.

If you're worried, or she's worried, get her to a doc. That's the only way to know for sure what's going on. We can't tell you through a computer screen precisely what the deal is with her.

The "taste" is actually being detected by your sense of smell; you just need to get close at this point. That is an early sign of some form of vaginitis, most likely bacterial. She should talk to her doctor.
