Pregnant? Help
I am fifteen years old, and my boyfriend and I had sex for the first time 6 weeks ago. I've been on the pill for a year now, and we used a condom. I had my period a week after we had sex, and it was on time, and normal.
This time, my period was 4 days late. I just got it last night/this morning, and it is considerably lighter than usual. I don't have any other symptoms/signs of pregnancy, so I was wondering if I have something to worry about, or am I just worrying for nothing? Thank you. |

This is actually the second time I've had my period since then, but it was late and now it's really light and unusual.
No condom breaks. I have missed days on the pill though, so that could possibly be the reason. Should I take a test to be sure? |

First go to the Form Pregnancy and STDs and read the sticky Take only as directed. Being erratic in taking the pill can actually increase the chances of pregnancy.
It is common for periods to become lighter on the pill. We each react a bit differently but in some cases the period almost disappears. If you otherwise are tolerating the pill, you may consider this a bonus. If other side-effects appear, you may be getting slightly overmedicated and should talk to the doctor. If you have not had sex since your period, the chance of pregnancy is very, very slight. If you are not mature enough to take the pills as directed, you lack the maturity to be having sex.

Missing the pill is a problem, yes. It's only effective if taken every day...missing one makes it possible for you to get pregnant for that month. If you don't want to get pregnant, PLEASE take precautions. If it will help your peace of mind, then by all means, take a pregnancy test. I probably would, if I knew i missed pills. Just beware flase positives/negatives. Like anythign else, there is room for error.
