Question about 100 mg Viagra (is it normal to lose sensitivity?)

Hi folks,

I tried 100 mg Viagra a few nights ago for the first time. I'm only 30 but have had a lot of trouble with ED (no clue why - that's another topic).

Here's what I found:

It made me hard enough for penetration, but I seemed to lose sensitivity. In other words, I could not have reached orgasm if I wanted to! This has it's usefulness in terms of being able to 'last', but obviously sex is not fun if you're basically not enjoying the sensation and unable to come even if you want to. I found myself thrusting endlessly, trying to vary positions, moving to having my partner provide oral stimulation....but nothing. I simply could *not* come. Eventually I just gave up and we went to bed.

The next morning, we had sex again (the viagra SEEMED to be still working because i was able to get hard with minimal feelings of attraction / desire for sex). It was still much harder to orgasm than it was with NO pills...but I finally managed to do it.

Questions:

1) Is this normal? If not, what would have caused it? I would appreciate some insight from an MD if one is available.

2) If it is abnormal, does this mean viagra is not for me? Would changing to a less potent form (ie. cutting the pill in half) be worth trying?

Brandye is a jewel in the rough
This is not documented in the medical literature. Whilst the three ED medications all work essentially the same way, each man reacts to them slightly differently. Tell your doctor about this and see if you should try one of the other two.

In the meantime, at 100 mg, be very aware of headache or visual or hearing anomalies. If those show up, get to the ER.

Does this mean 100 mg is too strong? Can I cut the pills in half instead?
