Frenuloplasty

I know this is a medical question, but i'm looking for people who have may have had experience of this operation.

If anyone has had it, how long did it take before you could have sex again? My stitches are out, and it all looks pretty good, but to be honest having let someone take a knife to my penis i'm feeling a bit vulnerable!

I assume you are addressing work on your penis and not your tongue. The two operations have the same name and need to be differentiated.

The site is usually visually healed and sealed after two weeks and sex can usually be resumed after about four weeks. These operations can vary greatly in the number of the cuts made depending upon the surgeon and severity of the problem.

You would be amazed at the lack of understanding among some patients. See the many posts here from women on the pill who have no idea of what the pill does - or how.

Good point Brandye, I was wondering why the doctor asked me to say "ahhh"

It did take a bit longer than 3 weeks to heal properly, so I went to see the doc & he said its not a problem, thats just the way wounds heal sometimes. I was just wondering if anyone knew how unusual that was.

The three weeks would not be at all unusual. A problem with the healing of a penile frenuloplasty is that it is difficult to keep dry and exposed the air. Unless you are a strange exhibitiobist!

It is not usually in a position for optimal healing.
