im 17, me and my girlfriend are sextually active. i have a slight concern about my penis. i tend to get really hard, then after having sex for a while, my penis get unhard. what tend to cause this? and i also have a hard time getting hard at certains time after we're done having sex then we want to go at it again. does a lil rash on the bottom of the penis affects this? because i have a slight one, due to lots of foreplay.

Well it could be anything....does this always happen? I know that with me, I can sort of go limp when we change positions....since we sometimes mess up and are a bit clumsy. I can also go limp if im not paying attention. I assume your wearing a condom, so can you actually feel it or is it like no sensation for you?

The state of one's erection waxes and wains and seems to be governed by:
* ongoing stimulation
* distractions
* focus
* rough intercourse in which the penis is pounded

As has been stated, above, going from hard to sort of hard or even going limp is all part of the experience sometimes. It will be worse if you worry about it or fret about it. Better, to say "woops" and go about getting firm, again, which can lead to some fun foreplay.

OH....to answer your second question in the post, of course it will take you a while to get hard again, its a refractory period....if you notice, itll prolly be a lot easier if you try getting hard 30 minutes after sex than 3 minutes after

There is hard, there is somewhat (un) hard, there is flaccid (limp).

What I got from the o/ps post is that he looses the rock hard erection and while still (partially) erect, becomes much less hard, although, not limp, all before climaxing.

Some of us do loose an erection after climaxing. The typical refractory period lasts between ten and thirty minutes after which we are good to go, again.

What I don't understand is why guys become so concerned and worried about their virility when they they loose an erection. For those of you reading this who are in this worrisome state, don't you get it? "It" is all in the fun and games that are added to the session in order to get hard again. Focus on the added enjoyment and much less the cause. Instead of becoming upset that an erection goes (partially) away, embrace the value of this long term.

I usually go partially limp at least once during sex. There are all kinds of reasons. From trying to get the condom out and on. (stupid foil wrappers are a pain to open lol), to getting in position...me and my girlfriend never agree on positions so we wrestle for it .

Dont look at it as a bad thing or so terrible. Like doc said its more fun to get it up again. Also I tend to go pretty soft right before penetration, and my girlfriend loves it, (im above average girth wise so it helps alot if i expand when im in rather than force it in.)
