If you're tensing up a lot and you're laying down, you could get a little dizzy and disoriented...but if this happens every time, even when masturbation isn't intense, I'd be worried. I'm no doctor, but that's only ever happened to me when I'm getting really into it...in which case it seems like a fair trade-off..I usually enjoy a little light-headedness

Same here. I only experience that if I've had to really work at it and sorta strain . . . what I call "chasing the orgasm".

I'm a girl who is young and healthy, and I do experience something pretty similar after I orgasm. I feel rather dizzy, and my body has that post orgasm tingle running through it, as though my whole body were just returning from being asleep (pins and needles). I usually stay still for the first moments after orgasm, but if I do stand up quickly it takes me a moment to adjust and I will keel to the side a little.

So, while I'm not a guy, I think we are both experiencing the same post orgasm sensation. I think this is normal. The feeling is more intense for me with more intense orgasms, and sometimes it is hardly there, but still noticeable.

My guess is that this is just the normal afterglow feeling, but if you are concerned you could ask your doctor just to be sure. Good luck

If you were lying down, then it might be the result of low blood pressure. It can get you like that even without masturbation. If it starts to get worse then its worth getting checked out.

Masturbation, to or not to, has been debated and attempts to control boys' behaviors regarding it for eons (well, at least from the time of the Puritans). In more recent times various religions and cultures have attempted to keep boys "under control". Many of the so-called fundamentalist religions of this country's Midwestern Bible Belt have or are teaching that masturbation is wrong and a sin to this day.

In less enlightened times it was commonly believed that the male of the species only had a limited amount of sperm, so to masturbate and waste it was to limit your chances of fatherhood.

The physiology of the masturbation process was not understood or even studied, women often went to her doctor or other specialist complaining about this malady or that only to have the (male) doctor perform what was known as a "manipulation" of the clitoris in order to fix all sorts of emotional and physical troubles. Guys? Not much was done for us except to be threatened. (See the movie "The Road to Wellville".)

For the most part most of us know that masturbation does not cause warts, hairy palms, or other side affects; nor does the process use up valuable assets.

Right, wrong, or indifferent, sex education of which this is but one aspect often has the religious and moral teachings of our parents as a foundation. Add to this the beliefs of culture and you can have an education that can be incomplete, biased, or just plain incorrect.

Sex Ed in the schools is generally regulated by district and state policies, there is no one lesson plan. What is taught in one area can be ignored or banned in another.

The process of masturbation offers men and women/ boys and girls a way to cope with and relieve stress and pent up sexual tension, in addition to it just feeling so incredibly good.

Yes, the urge or drive to masturbate can and usually is too strong to put off for long. How long depends on several factors such as a person's natural sex drive, and, how long it takes for stress and sexual tension to build up to the so called boiling point. It takes a strong will for most of us to hold off more than three days. (See the movie "40 Days and 40 Nights", starring Josh Hartnett.) What happens if the average guy tries to hold off? At some point he might experience a wet dream, or, more to the point, be mentally preoccupied and consumed with the matter only to find the compulsion too overwhelming not to do. It is not uncommon for a boy/man to unconsciously do it only to "wake up" and realize what just happened!

Are you saying that your father is teaching you that masturbation is sinful and not to do it?

I seem to remember a recent thread on this in which Brandye replied that all is normal, considering that the blood can move from the extremities, and in this case the head which would make you feel temporarily dizzy or woozy. (I think I have that right.)
