Pubic Shaving Tips - M/F Shavers Please Provide Input

Hello,

I have been reading the threads on the forums regarding shaving pubic hair. I tried this with good results a little over a week ago (actually started out as trimming & then got carried away). The smooth balls felt great & my wife LOVED it; We have had some of the best sex we have experienced in years. She loves the way every thing feels & looks now. She definitely likes to perform oral sex more now. We may try the same on her next week. BTW- the itching has not been bad, just powder up good in the a.m with talc (I shaved dry w/ very light touch. Don't know if this had anything to do w/ it). I had a few questions after reading in some different sites on the web & was hoping that some of you more experienced in this practice could help us with.

1. I am wondering about the best equipment to use to do this with. We have already purchased a trim kit for trimming the area up top (we chose not to completely shave).
I have heard a lot of different recommendations about different razors & wanted to know what was the best to use.

2. I was wondering if any of the guys had had experience using the Phillips Body Groomer on their scrotum. I read in one fellow’s blog that he did not recommend its use for the scrotum due to cutting issues. He preferred the Gillette Fusion Power for that area. One site recommends the use of the Gillette Venus for shaving pubes while still others recommend the round Seiko shaver or various manual razors.

3. Also I have heard that regular men’s shaving cream is not recommended. I have read recommendations that range from Gillette Satin Care to hair conditioner or KY Jelly. What do you find most effective?

4. I have also read various recommendations for “after shaving” products to prevent problems. To be honest, so far, I have not encountered any bumps, irritation, etc. Although, even though my wife indicated she doesn’t think I need to save there again yet; now at a little over a week the stubble seems a little prickly at times. I have been using hair conditioner down there daily to try to keep things soft & avoid the pricklies.

I guess what I am really trying to say is that some of the info I have been reading on the web is a year or two old & wanted to get input on what the best products available today for these purposes are & will also gladly read any additional advise those of you who do this have to offer (some of the basics I have read in previous threads).

Thank you in advance for taking the time to help us with this. My wife has a renewed interest in sex now; I want to keep her horny & happy!

I can tell you I use a normal razor for the pubic area and I use Nair bikini area for my scrotum, it works wonderfully and no hair what so ever.

Yea, I just use my Gillette Fusion Power for everything, just switch out blades if you want. I shave my pubes with normal shaving cream, while in the shower. Make sure you don't shave too early while it's prickly, then it will cause bumps and maybe some bleeding because it won't shave it, just pull it. I wait probably a week or a week and a half to 2, depending on how it feels. Once it isn't stubbly, then I'll shave again. The more you do it, the easier it will be every time after and smoother it will feel

I go without cream as well every now and then, just get in the shower with the water pretty warm, get your skin nice and pliable and then shave. Only time I don't use cream is when I'm trying to shave some sort of design or my testicles. Shaving cream on your testicles for 2 minutes = freezing feeling haha

1. I use a gillete sensor 3. Much better than my Philishave Electric for these things.

2. Never tried it. Loved the ad though.

3. I just wet down the area with water and I'm good to go.

4. I never have "prickly" problems myself. I just moisturize the area afterward to help avoid irritation. Also I should say that after several rounds shaving, the irritation definitely does reduce.

I've always just used the flip up part of my electric razor...

Good areas to cut as close as possible are your balls, and anything on the shaft. Also where the shaft meets your body you should cut close as possible, and basically trim all other hair right down (but don't shave bare). This will make you look a lot longer. Usually I shave bare with the remaining hair a pattern, like a crown or an arrow, etc. Once I shaved everything but a heart, and colored it red for Vallentines day

Didn't go ever that well though

I use the Philips Bodygroom on my penis, scrotum, pubis and pereneum and I find as long as the scrotum is tight then there are few problems using it - also I'm happy with the results and so is my wife! The only cutting issues occur when the scrotum is loose and rucks up into folds and wrinkles, then it's much trickier, as a general rule I shave before a shower.
