Safe, probably, except for possibly becomming entangled in a zipper.

> > If he is wearing a fly I would suggest underpants.

There have been stories about guys zipping up and snagging the skin of their shaft or Frenulum in the zipper. I can only imagine that this is the stuff of male nightmares! Pubic hairs would be less of a delema.

> > A kid on my lacrosse team last year wore no underwear all of the time and would always talk about how comfortable it was and that you would never go back to wearing them.

I grew up a "tighty-whitey" kid and never saw a need nor had a desire to switch to boxers. I tried boxers once out of curiosity and found that dealing with and hiding spontaneous erections were troublesome. With underpants, you can orient the penis vertically and position it in the middle so that when it grows, it expands under the folds of the fly up toward the abdomen. With boxers, the flaccid penis is free to flop any direction any time and if it is downward, then when it expands, there is often extra pressure placed against it caused by the restiction of the the pants.

Custom tailored trousers may still be available with what tailors call a "rise" in which more room is built into one of the legs at the thigh in order to accommodate a man's tooling.

Since boxers have become more popular especially among boys, I for one would like to hear from boys who wear them to learn if erections are indeed a problem, if so how much, and how they deal with them all the time.

> > Maybe the person would be more prone to bacteria getting in there, but not by much, I would deem it safe.

I agree and think the matter of health safety is pretty much a moot point.

> > if the person is uncircumsized...it would be somewhat more comfortable because the glans under the foreskin is less sensitive.

Agreed; although do not overlook the fact that there are plenty of sensitive sensual nerve endings in the foreskin.

Once a baby boy has been circumcised, it is because of the constant exposure to the elements and contact with clothing that makes the Glans much less sensitive. This fact makes for a good case against having an infant cut. For all you future mothers and fathers out there, consider this.

Call me weird, but I kind of like the idea of putting on clean underwear every day.

I guess you could accomplish the same thing if you always washed your pants every time you wore them ... but that seems a little wasteful, and would run up a heck of a dry-cleaning bill if you're actually an adult who dresses for an office.

thanks for the info .... yeah the washing the pants part is a bit of a problem... which my bf can't seem to understand... i had d same reasoning too that if you don't wear underwear then u need to change/wash your pants every day.... which he doesn't do....and that's where i think it is unhealthy and might cause health risks ....am i right?? (i've tried helping out this issue by at least buying him more pants but he still wears the same ones more or less for at least a week!!!

any ideas on how to try make him understand to do otherwise?? i mean if it's a health risk i'd rather he avoids it obviously...sometimes it even starts to smell a bit!!!

I am a 17 year old male, and I wear boxers. The erections do cause a problem in my experiances, it probably doesnt help either that i wear shorts everyday, when one gets an erection with shorts(or worse, basketball shorts) it is obvious. I have tried to angle the penis up, and tucking it under the waistband, works sometimes. If I am at school, i usually just casually try and cover it with a book I am carrying, hoping it doesnt look blatently obvious what I am doing. I wouldnt say it is a huge problem, but it can be troublesome in some situations. One gets used to it.

Although hearing your methods of hiding an erection while wearing "Whitey-Tightys" is very convincing, I just may go out and buy a pair and see how it works.

But, I enjoy the easy access which boxers provide.

If you purchase Hanes you'll find them 3 to a pack, I think.

I like them as they have the best fit of any I've tried and the fly design affords fairly easy access. Whether you are erect or not, just center your penis and aim it up and it will stay that way for a long time, free to expand and contract at will. Should it shift you can always insert a hand in the front pocket of your pants and resposition it and no one will be the wiser. Sure beats a downward facing penis that is trying to push against your clothing!

Browser will become famous soon enough
I've worn both boxers and tighty whiteys before. Doc's 100% correct about hiding erections, but I find that repositioning my body to conceal my nether regions works well enough in boxers. Boxers are wonderfully comfortable and allow "easy access" as Sdraw said.

With that in mind, I sleep commando :P

I dont know about health risks, but his pants would definitly be getting funky after a few days lol. At least underwear catch most of the sweat we have down there,
