Polyurethane Condoms
I've recently tried polyurethane condoms, and they are much more sensitive and smoother, allowing us at least 15min of pain free sex. However, they are too small for me. I can only put them on when softer, and then never get fully hard because it's too constricting. I'm usually between 6.25 and 6.75 in girth, occasionally slightly more if very relaxed and really hard. Can anyone suggest a type of condom for larger girth that won't conflict with the following issue?
When my gf is near and shortly after her cycle, her vagina becomes much more sensitive and prone to tearing or abrasion. This could be exacerbated by taking Enbrel, which makes her skin thinner and sensitive. During these times, a latex condom is too abrasive, especially since we tend to have 2-5hr sessions with up to a couple hrs of penetration. Even during 5minutes of soft penetration though, the latex still hurts with plenty of lube. |

Google "condoms" or similar and go to the various manufacturers' websites. Condoms come in different styles and sizes. If your local outlets do not stock medium or large sizes, you may have to order on line.
Use plenty of lube--and, on the condom itself. When you find a make/model that fits you comfortably, apply a bit of lube just to your glans and not the shaft. This will provide more "wiggle room" and transmit more friction. You may also want to try and evaluate natural condoms; however, these offer no barrier to STDs. http://www.avert.org/usecond.htm

I don't mean to hi-jack the post or anything, but there is another non-latex condom material called polyisoprene. I've seen some sellers state that the polyisoprene condoms are safe for use with oil-based lubricants, and others say that they will degrade like latex when exposed to oil. Can anyone give a definitive answer as to whether or not they can handle oils like polyurethane?
Oh, funinthesun, the polyisoprene condoms are more elastic than polyurethane condoms. They might be what you need/want.

I do not know, however, oil based lubes are not recommended for inside the vagina.

In other words, I would never use anything but water based lubes on any condom that was made of a polymer. Not even on polyurethane even though it has been deemed safe by the manufacturer. |
