I have many rings. Most of them are metal with a few rubber type and a few stretchy jelly one. These all are single larger rings which fit over the shaft and balls. Shaving beforehand will solve that problem.

Not all rings are designed to go around the testicles and the shaft. The stretchy ones are typically just for the shaft; there are metal, rubber and plastic kinds that do not stretch, and those are for both the shaft and the testicles, though however you use them is up to you. Some people like it around both, some just like it around the shaft.

My only experiences with cock rings have been removing them in the ER. It is amazing what people do to themselves and I am certain there are "safe" ones. The young interns, preferably women, are the ones who get these cases. Embarasses both the patient and the doctor. Lots of later laughter in the break room.
