My gf and I had a long discussion the other night of what we want out of each other in the bedroom. One of the ideas she brought up was her only fantasy so far. She wants to eventually have sex in the shower or the bathtub. Now I know that using water based products are not advised in this scenario. So exactly what should we look for, when considering sex in water? I think we have to switch to a non-waterbased lubricant, but can I still use the curex love condoms or do I have to buy a new package of a different lubricated condoms?

Sex in the shower/tub
There are condoms with various kinds of lube and it will still work whether water-based or not. She should have vaginal spermicide in her as well. There are several threads on water based sexual activity. Consider in a lake, pool or hottub, whatever is in the water will end up in her. The inner lips (labia menora) prevent water from entering the vagina. So we can swim and enjoy other water sports without getting stuff in us. When the lips are spread to admit a penis, water enters as well. The thrusting can then act as a piston pumping more water into her vagina. This is not a big factor in a shower. Whatever is in the water - soap, chlorine, bacteria - will be pumped into her.
As a practical matter, I have always been disappointed in sex in the water - good place for play but the main activity is better on dry land.
We have had sex in a hot tub before and it was fun since it was a unique situation. But the actual sex wasn't super great. Just the excitment of doing it in a hot tub. The best sex was in a hot tub has been giving each other oral. One of us sits on the side while the other goes down and gives oral. We usually finish with intercourse back in the bedroom. There has been a lot of hand play in the hot tub which is fun and getting naked while in there. A few times other people have come along and so we have to secretly pull our swim suits on before getting out. My wife once instigated in the ocean. We were in Hawaii and she suggested we go for a swim. When we were out there she took her bikini off and pulled my swim truncks off too. We had intercourse there in the water just off the beach. It was fun and exciting. We laughed about trying to keep or swim suits from floating away and if they did, how we we get out of the water. We did keep them with us so we didn't really have to solve that problem. Fortunately we have our own hot tub now, so we can use it naked and play with each other, then go inside and finish.
If the water is clean tis ok as in shower but th chemicals in a hot tub are not somehing youd want IN the lady.
That I figured. It'd only be in the shower or bath tub. I've looked at this issue on other sites and found that the condom could slip off or tear. In that regard I think we'd just take it slow and see what'd happen. My main concern (other than the condom ripping or slipping) would be the possibility of an embolism. So when the time comes I think we'l talk about this issue and see what we both want to do. Worse comes to worse, there's nothing wrong with foreplay in the shower...:) that's always good

I've always wondered how much of a risk of infection is posed to women who surf frequently. Granted the lips keep some water out, but once you start surfing medium sized waves and wipeout, water is forced everywhere. Guys, at least, are wearing boardshorts that prevent it from going there, but women often wear only bikinis and I can't imagine that stopping it.
