Hello. I did some research for a few friends about a year ago on the subject and hope this might help those who are interested.

First, I must say that powered machinery and the human body are a dangerous combination for sober people, much less those trying to lose their coordination! Materials break even when used perfectly and errors can happen at manufacturing facilities where microscopic flaws in a metal or plastic cause them to fail unexpectedly. Do not assume that something that feels sturdy really is. When dealing with anything that thrusts, please take into careful consideration what position you happen to be in and the machine as well and make sure that if something fails(the stand, the shaft, your legs, whatever) it will not be repeatedly penetrating/stabbing any further than you wanted. Should something ever break, you really want to be sure that your body is strong enough to stop it and all parts are out of harms way. A person will quickly notice if they've hit something that hurts, a machine will not, and you are probably in a compromising position and are the only one available to stop it.

Especially if using something at high rpm, make sure whatever is inserted is flexible and non-abrasive such as covering the attachment with a non-latex condom and using lots of lubrication. It will make a significant difference over time. Someone here a while ago wanted to adapt a reciprocating saw to use on his anus, a VERY BAD IDEA. Thin cell membranes + friction + high rpm is a recipe for disaster. One wouldn't even feel it before significant damage is done in the blink of an eye.

If you're going to spend a lot of money on something that thrusts, I'd think you'd expect more options than simply stroke speed such as stroke length. A machine with a rotating disc and different shaft attachment points would allow for this but would also likely be larger. A linear motor could probably get the job done better, but requires a lot more maintenance.

Sorry for the incomplete post but I've got to get back to work. I'll update it later with more info on how well they actually worked but thought these were important things to consider while looking around.
