Hi everyone. Kinda new here so i'm just trying to figure out how things work but I have a question. I'm guessing this question has been asked before so please don't get annoyed when I ask because I am still new here:) Okay so i'm 16 and im a female but I was just curious, on average how long should sex last?

Hello! and welcome to the SI101 Board and its Forums. I hope you enjoy participating.
When you ask how long "sex" should last, what are you referring to? Sex and is fooling around, making out, foreplay--and maybe intercourse; or, intercourse? The word means different things to different people which is why I'm asking.
If you mean 15-20 minutes for everything up to and including foreplay (hand jobs and oral sex) then that is minimum and at best being short changed particularly for women as the fairer gender requires at least 20 minutes in order to get both "warmed up" and "reved up" to use the vernacular. I'd recommend double this as a minimum--and longer if time and inclination permit.
If you mean 15-20 minutes from start to the finish of intercourse then except for the proverbial "Quickie" this is way way too short for the reason given.
If you mean 15-20 minutes of intercourse, then there are a couple of ways to look at this.
1. if you are the recipient of lots and Lots and LOTS and LOTS of stroking and thrusting, then many women report back stating that 10 minutes is about maximum before they become sore--tired--and--bored.
2. if the two of you would like to prolong intercourse, then my recommendation is to take periodic breaks in which he pulls out and you continue the make out session for a little while, keeping him near the peak of his arousal yet not so close that he will loose control, then reengage for more intercourse, etc.

Oh no no were really careful about it, im actually on the pill and we use condoms as well. We've done it multiple times now and it last between 15 and 20 minutes. Would you say thats about average time or is average time longer?

I don't have 4-5 hours to kill like that...lol... or I'd be bored by then :)
I'm usually in the 30min to 1hr range...foreplay included w/ that.
With men, I am in the same class as Demon. If he is in me twenty minutes, he winds up on the floor.
With women, things are a little slower but then there are so many side conversations and little surprises.
Foreplay - approx 1 hour
Sex - 30 minutes
Cuddling afterwards - 10-15 minutes
Recovery time (for him) - 30 minutes
Repeat 4 times.

My ex-fiance was an interesting character. I thought he was doing some marathon thing. Found it was his norm, I adjusted as long as he kept me amused...:) Now I like the same...hard to beat. Snowy days here are great for that!!!
By 15-20 minutes I mean not including any of the warm up or foreplay, just stricktly intercourse.

Mine lasts about 40-50 mins, we rarely do foreplay as we don't need it, all we do is cuddling and kissing before intercourse and then we are both biting at the bit for sex.
Me and boyfriend have only had it a few times but the whole thing foreplay and sex last about 40 minutes to an hour.
