I think you should se a counselor. Abuse of women is pandemic world wide and a major problem. Every community in the industrialized world has resources and support systems for abused women. Find out what is available and get some help. It is usally free or low in cost.

I am bi- and in a stable relationship with a woman. For different reasons. Abuse within the lesbian community is far from unknown although, in general, I think you are correct.

I'd say just get back on the horse with a nice guy who you absolutely know wont be abusive. And if you make a mistake, and a guy abuses you, leave him right then and there. If he doesn't leave you alone, call the cops. But shoot for a nice, considerate guy. Dont let those @$$holes speak for all men.

I say see a counselor and work this out before you jump into another relationship. Even if you found a good guy, at times when you would have difficulties with him, you would feel betrayed and even worse. You will think that you never should have even given men another chance. You have to work things out for yourself first, with the help of the counselor. And only when you are ready, only then start dating and take it slow.

First off don't push yourself to get back into a relationship that will only make things worse. Take your time. Second look at why you are picking these men what is it about them or you that attracks you to them? Work on that area of your life.
And you won't be happy being a lesbian if you aren't already one. Woman can be just as mean as men can.
