Safe Massage Oils

Hi,

my girlfriend and i have used pure natural almond oil during sensual massage sessions, but we have avoided introducing it to her genital area due to the fear of a yeast infection developing there.

I have read a post here stating that natural vegetable oils are safe in this regard, which recommended several different vegetable oils, but not almond oil. Could you confirm that pure natural almond oil is safe in this regard also?

thanks

Oil safety

As a trained Aromatherapist, my advice would not to use any oil in the genital area that has anything added to it. Personally, Almond Oil can in some instances cause a reaction because it is nut based. Go for something like Grapeseed oil or perhaps Sunflower oil. These are known as carrier oils in the trade and are the base oils for adding your therapy oils to. Never add anything to the carrier for massaging the genital area.

As pointed out by bartona, NATURAL oils are fine. If there is any reaction go with pure non-scent oil. I like safflower oil with a bit of added almond oil for massage. Be careful that you do not use extract or other derived essances for the aroma. These usually have alcohol of some variation in them.

If you are using condoms, use poly condoms. Latex is a vegetable product and vegetable oils can weakne latex condoms.

thanks!

thanks to all, i appreciate your assistance

durex 2 in 1 massage gel. Is ok to use with condoms and doubles as a lube.

Coconut oil works extremely well. Side bonus - it's available in quart sizes in grocery stores in the cooking section for only $5. That's a year's supply.
